My bigger concern is that you have 100+ people sitting shoulder-to-shoulder as well as important equipment and the potential for a stray bullet to impact either. I guess with depressurization, the worst case scenario is likely that a cockpit window is blown out, people put on masks, and the airplane descends rapidly

I live near Newark Airport so I fly mostly United and haven’t flown JetBlue in a year or so.  They used to be great 5-10 years ago but it makes sense that they are following airline trends of offering less for more.

At least you had military training to supplement the minimal amount of training for certification.  Sure, lots of commercial pilots came from military backgrounds, but most do not.

This is so true, unfortunately.

I have a decent amount of experience with firearms but would never consider using one in extremely close-quarters combat situation, especially in a pressurized jellybean in the sky full of people. How is it a good idea for someone who is likely not highly trained (a 1 week course doesn’t count) to have one on an

Am I missing something here? How are these two companies considered competitors?

A few head scratchers here:

1st Gear - Why are automakers surprised that a majority of the car-driving population can’t or doesn’t want to afford a vehicle that costs well over $50K, especially in a softening economy? I am in the market for an EV with a maximum budget of $80K and could care less if the car has the capability of going 0-60 in

This is 100% correct. Most people don’t even know how to pop the hood of their car and anything outside of basic vehicle operation. My wife was unaware of the purpose of the flappy paddles on either side of the steering wheel on her old Merc for 3 years before she accidentally downshifted two gears which caused her

Any performance vehicle with wheels larger than 20" because unsprung mass is the worst.

The quick defogger is one button in particular that needs to be in all cars!  Even if it’s an icon on the screen, it is fine so long as it is always showing on the screen.

I was involved in a collision where a semi pushed a 26' box truck into the rear quarter panel of my x5 and despite the collision happening at under 10 mph, it completely destroyed my rear tire, quarter panel, door, and bumper. The total cost of repairs is north of $8K and this would have been a fender bender if it was

How many Enzos have mouse hair carpets, you know the same material used in packing blankets?

Unless they pay to use it, of course!

I am 100% on team dial.  I have slider HVAC temp controls on my A7 and it takes me way too long to select the correct temperature after going up and down several degrees each time.

I have a fully loaded XC60 T8 as a rental car right now and love how easy the satnav/infotainment system is to use but hate that there are only hard buttons for radio controls and not HVAC controls. It’s a pain to leave the nav screen just to set the windscreen defogger. The new BMW rentals (3-series and x1) I also

I don’t watch the news, I read the news and prefer to stick to publications that are unbiased if not a bit left of center. But thanks for making generalizations about me based on one post. The only things I enjoyed were seeing the expansive Chinatown, touring Alcatraz, and leaving to go to Napa.

I’m actually left of center but I just don’t get SF so thanks for making assumptions about me without knowing anything other than that I hated my trip to SF. I went there six years ago with some friends and was there for three days before heading to Napa and later on SD. I have no idea what it is like now but I can’t

Wow, what a complete and utter shitfest they have going for them out in SF. It has to be the worst major city in the USA right now and for the past several years. It’s bad enough that you can’t take more than a few steps downtown without having to dodge piles of human shit and that you have to live two hours away from

The photo at the top of the article makes it look like one of the rotors was disengaged by the fireworks but I am glad they just bounced off the hull and everyone was ok. That could have been much worse.
