I mean Tesla was the first company ever to produce an electric car. There has never been an electric car before Telsa. Not even a car with a battery in it.  So of course nobody knew how paint would work when dealing with such a completely untested and brand new technology.

That’s ridiculous. you don’t think a ZF 8speed can’t handle an extra 65hp?  The ZF 8HP70 in the XE is rated for 516lb-ft.  I think even if you drove it pretty hard, that’s not what’s going to break first.  Same with the engine.

For my pedantic moment of the day, water-based paints are solvent-based. Water is the solvent.

I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time.

Have you ever modified any car you’ve owned, or order to make it sound better and/or have more power?

This^^ Seems like a lot of over reaction over a tune and some sporty sound. It’s not like the cats were deleted. I’ve done some sort of mod to every vehicle I’ve owned and they’ve never magically disintegrated into bro dust, and they usually sound better, bring aural joy to the driving experience. Lot of pearl

Go easy on the owner. The V6 in this car sounds incredible, and the factory exhaust is too quiet. And what about the owner wanting more power is a hallmark of a “bro racer douche”? Have you ever modified a car?

IKR?  Ever since Ford, they’ve been horribly reliable.

Way back when my supervisor kept pressuring me to donate to United Way so his department could continue to get a 100% donation rating. I kept saying no, over and over and over, until the deadline came and went. There is no way to achieve a 100% without coercion, and there was, so I did not sign on because of the

At first, rental agencies like Avis, Hertz and Thrifty couldn’t find enough people to rent cars; strapped, they sold off huge chunks of their fleets.

Even though no one would pay 20k for this truck, we unfortunately will never get a true 100% crack pipe here. Stupid people will go against the norm just to irritate the rest of us.

“Public roads not built to be raced on” describes basically every rally stage in existence

Yeah, that’s not going to cut it for the french press. Maybe for an every-day cleaning, that’s a fine method, but if you’re doing a deep clean, you really need to take apart the plunger. Once you take it apart, you’ll see probably a decent amount of coffee grounds, built-up coffee oils, and other assorted gunk hiding

A person complaining about Jalopnik posting a Tesla article -

We have a bunch of them at work too. On of the guys I work directly with and know better says his Model 3 is the best car he has owned and the worst car his has owned. It is the best for the performance and battery tech that allows him to drive an EV for almost all his driving. It is the worse because of the build

I prefer food grade citric acid to vinegar. Any aftertaste from the citric acid is much more pleasant than the one left by vinegar.  The citric acid is much less likely to leave an aftertaste than vinegar.

I like looking up those 2012-2013 EVs and seeing what the highest mileage one of each model is. Whoever took a Smart ED to 60,000 miles is a hero. I also once saw a Focus Electric at 97,000.

Having been to Joe Robbie Stadium (fuck these paid for names) many times this completely shocks me. The paved roads around the stadium are barely adequate for a regular passenger vehicle traveling at 5 mph. I suppose they’re going to need to dump many millions to create an actual smooth racing surface.
