Count me among those perplexed by the cold open from the premiere. I don't know how it fits. Maybe it was a flash forward?

I was waiting for her to add "or they work for Time Warner".
I'm starting to think Tim should look for a new job.
I did watch this past season, and it was pretty terrible. Cheadle does what he can with the material, but no one from that show should be nominated for anything.
Interesting. Hopefully it will work out, I'll definitely be watching the first few episodes.
I think Jamal HAS to die eventually. It seems like this shows' dual inspirations are The Godfather and the life of Bashar Al-Assad. Obviously in the The Godfather Sonny dies, paving the way for Michael to take over. In real life, Bashar Al-Assad (like "Barry", a doctor by training) returned to Syria from London…
Yeah, the first season was seriously hampered by the conventions of the serial killer story arc. It was like they had smashed two different shows together. Season two could be really good if they focus more on day-to-day to life on the border, and on the characters (they have a very good cast to work with).
I assume Jamal dies in the season finale, but my guess is Barry will not be directly responsible. He'll probably be indirectly responsible and feel guilty about it, though. Maybe the girl he got released in this episode will kill Jamal, or some other decision Barry made will lead to Jamal's death.
There's no covering up that she's a very attractive woman, but it's nice they haven't thrown in any gratuitous Kate-from-Lost shower scenes or filmed her legs and ass first in the Michael Bay-style. There have been no "we need you to go undercover as a hooker" plot lines. Agent Morgan being hot has not really played…
SPOILER: Todd VanDerWerff is Keyser Soze.
Sadly, it seems extremely unlikely the producers and writers have thought of any these questions. They're just generically Arab. I wouldn't be shocked if they don't even have an answer for "How did Barry's dad come to power?".
Yeah, I agree with the reviewer that the rest of the family was awful, but the daughter seems reasonably plugged in. As much as you could reasonably expect for someone who has never been there. She knows it's a bad place and that her father has good reasons for not wanting to be there, which is more than can be said…
Yeah, Chapelle was definitely a bigger holy shit moment.
Yeah, the casualties so far are a president with Alzheimer's who went willingly and a bunch of CIA operatives. We're at zero ordinary Americans so far.
Keeler never actually died, because Fox wouldn't let the producers kill a sitting President that soon after 9/11. So they left it as him being incapacitated, and I don't think we ever got another update on his condition. For our purposes, I've always counted him as dead. It seems odd to count it as an unsuccessful…
As always, I find 24's refusal to acknowledge it's own history hilarious. The voice-over on the preview for next week begins "On the darkest day in our nation's history…" Darkest day??? What about the previous eight "Days" this show has covered? In the show's universe, Heller is the 4th President to be…
We're gonna tie one on tonight friendo
In True Blood, didn't Sookie previously disappear into another dimension for a year? That does not technically fit the criteria for this list, but as the audience followed Sookie it had the same effect of jumping the other characters forward.
Yeah, I was ready for both of them to go. Not Molly. NEVER MOLLY.
Molly being shot to death by Gus would be worse than the Red Wedding.
