Looper is unquestionably his breakout hit IMO. Personally found that movie to be so-so but it’s the movie that set him up to get Star Wars.

I thought Jean Smart was stunning
And the In Memoriam was the worst ever
I’m genuinely curious:
Better Call Saul was amazing television and while not a bad episode, season 4 did drag in a few places. But to say that Succession is running out of steam after that ending seems wrong to me.
Succession is already running out of steam going into season 4, there’s no way Squid Game makes a season 2 even half as impactful as season 1, Severance will live or die in how it resolves its mysteries like all other mystery box shows... none of these hold a candle to Better Call Saul. It’s a perfect series of…
I found myself rather liking how the design of Numenor clearly takes a lot of inspiration from ancient Mediterranean civilizations. It feels perfectly appropriate considering it’s sort of the Tolkien version of Atlantis.
Holy shit, that’s not what Downey said at all. Read it slowly again, cracka:
Downey is a well-known dick. He was being a dick.
Nope; please - it’s far cruder than that.
Everything on the internet is for clicks, but, in fairness to AVClub, Iñárritu for some reason resurrected this in his recent interview. AVC is just reporting on it
It must piss Inarritu off so much that Michael Keaton went right back to comic book movies.
Nah, that’s not my read on that sentence. I mean, if you just look at the phrasing it’s pretty clear that’s not what he’s saying:
That sounds like the explanation a publicist would give who was bending over backwards to cover for a client.
Maybe starting the conversation by calling another artist’s work “genocide” leaves you little room to be taken aback by the response. Also AVClub, you’re trying to restart an eight year old argument for some clicks? Isn’t that a bigger popcultural problem?
I think he is saying a guy whose language is the result of a country being the recipient of mass cultural genocide (Spain to Mexico) maybe should understand how silly he sounds with that statement.
*the ghost of George Clooney now floats away into space....*
Half Life 3 confirmed!
Ted Lasso was also created by Bill Lawrence, who also created Scrubs, which starred Pugh’s now ex Zach Braff, who also directed some Ted Lasso episodes.
I’d counter with Arondir, but I’m sure he has a separate problem with that character.
The Venn diagram of weird creeps obsessed with Elon Musk (Musk himself is one such creep) and weird creeps incredibly mad at the Rings of Power is a near-circle.
