Hi, it’s me, “prequels suck” guy, here to remind you that prequels are dramatically inert and suck! The more you already knew!

Since evidently there are taped interviews with Dr Shirley talking about how his relationship with Tony Vallelonga WAS more than employee-employer, it does make one wonder what the family’s motives are, since they claim the opposite.
Being familiar with far too many cases of people who disowned their gay family members, and then pretended to a strong relationship after their deaths, I’m not inclined to automatically believe Shirley’s family. That said, it’s pretty telling that no one on the Green Book side denies that there was no attempt to get…
While I want to think that this outcry by the family is because they want the “true” story told on film, the cynical side of me wonders if they are just unhappy they are not getting a cut of the profits.
Do not underestimate the raw power of a man eating a folded-up pizza as a sandwich.
Than why is the protagonist’s black best friend arrested on trumped up charges by a racist cop literally named “Mason Dixon”’and she’s completely forgotten about until that last half hour of the movie? Why does the police chief, who the movie portrays as a good hearted, brush off “Mason Dixon’s” allegedly torturing a…
A veritable cornucopia of crass; a potpourri of contrivance if you will.
A symphony of lies! An opera buffa of balderdash! An oratorio of oratory flapdoodle! A requiem mass of mendacium! A concerto of contrivance! A sonata of subterfuge!
If Crash had come out in more recent times it wouldn’t have won. Social media being what it is now there would have been too much noise
That corny ass movie won?
I still always think Cronenburg first and then go oh yeah that other one.
Green Book, like Three Billboards and Crash, tries to rebrand racism as an individual flaw white people can overcome rather than as a systemic issue propped up by white people. They’re basically the movies white people watch to why they still talk to their racist relatives.
Just like Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing Missouri, I think there will be enough controversy around this movie that it won’t win Best Picture or any of the major awards. Even Ali is somewhat distancing himself from it a bit...he may not bother with the usual campaigning / media routine that precedes the Oscars
Can you imagine thinking Bohemian Rhapsody was better than BlacKKKlansman or If Beale Street Could Talk?!
Just as the Golden Globes started to matter, they did a nice little one-two with Green Book and Bohemian Rhapsody to remind everyone exactly what they’d been watching.
Sandra Oh earned both the nomination and, given the other nominees, the win.
How does Sandra Oh get nominated (and win) best actress for Killing Eve when she isn’t even the best actress in Killing Eve?
Well, it’s not on our list of Top 20 Movies That You’d Be Shocked to Find Out AVC Critics Hated...
Wait, an A.A. Dowd “A”. But I don’t know what to do with this. I normally add a full letter grade to his reviews. What do I do with this? Is it a super “A”?
