As ironic as that is in the short term, politicians have the power to make a lot more of a positive difference on a mass scale but if they can’t get awareness from the masses, even just simple name recognition, they’ll have a zero chance at making any mass difference which can vastly outweigh the petty waste of flyers

Another +1 to hopefully ungray you... FreeTaxUSA is also another free legit option (admittedly sketchy sounding). Can’t recommend CreditKarma anymore now that Intuit just bought them...

👏👏👏

My main example was anecdotal from my only experience so far buying flights - it was international and multi-city so a fairly complex one with high potential for variation - and in that case I saved literally $500pp by getting it on Fareboom than every other site. It was enough to make me wary and my gut thoughts

Appreciate your pragmatic look at this. I’ve only had the Reserve for a year - a big travel year - and I’ll just add too that buying hotel rooms and airfare through Chase is going to cost more than on virtually any travel site. So you can get a free hotel room with your points, but if you got it from a different site,

I’ve always been one to look - and often wait - for a deal, and I still do it today out of habit, but let’s be real: it’s ok to pay a little more money sometimes if it means something to you. If you can afford it particularly, accept it and do your best. Give smaller businesses a chance and heck, even give other

This. Plus another reemphasis on the disgusting environmental impact of shipping something, fully intending to send it right back.

Read the other comments for a concise explanation of how tax brackets ACTUALLY work. The long and short is that a raise is a raise. Getting bumped into the next tax bracket is always a good thing: you don't suddenly start paying an extra 2+% tax on ALL your income - just the income over that last bracket.

I love biking and I don’t get it either. Definitely seems neat from a technological perspective, but mainly just neat, not mindblowing or notably innovative or even notably useful. Couple that with the fact that I love all the mechanical feels of my bikes and never once thought that my relatively low end shifts needed

Don’t feed the troll? Unless there’s actually somebody who seriously thinks that since _they_ prefer one activity over another, it must apply that way to everybody? Then are they still just a troll? Or maybe just an conceited asshole...

+1 on Ferris’ reply - that was a terrible retort, not fair at all. Just because flights exist today doesn’t mean they have to exist tomorrow. And yes, it is less efficient in the immediate term to do anything but fill an empty seat on a plan, but the solution to our environmental problems is long-term and acting like

I’m with you on that surprise, but I’ll note (and granted, a quick reference search on some of these figure couldn’t validate it, so feel free to take with a grain of salt)...

That ignorantly assumes everything is static and will remain the same, despite basic supply and demand practiced by all businesses, airlines included.

Waste needs to be addressed from both ends: consumers need to be more accountable - virtually unlimited trash disposal is not a right - but also important is that every business involved in the consumption needs to be held accountable, from manufacture to packaging to distribution (I'm looking at you Amazon).

Wow I had no idea this was built-in - thanks!

This reminds me of Randall Monroe’s (of XKCD fame) What If series - ridiculous premise but wildly amusing and interesting to read about.

Ooo see I hadn’t even given comp a thought because I knew I haven’t been improving and probably won’t really improve much (I don’t get to play a ton), so I thought it’d just be depressing, but this is a great perspective in that it’d be more likely to get better matchmaking in comp - plus the benefit of possibly more

Same here!

I agree with this 100%. I came here for the comments calling him out for being a whiny rich guy who’s just mad that somebody's got something that looks similar (and better!) than his custom one-off multi-million dollar car and I was thoroughly satisfied. Your comment is what I agree with the most though.
