Right now on some Elseworld people are eagerly anticipating that version of Krypton while watching FOX's critically acclaimed series Gotham Central.

This recent one was a bit of both. The Husbands of River Song was written by Moffat with the intention of it being his final episode as showrunner, but future Who showrunner Chris Chibnall was getting ready to work on his third and final season of Broadchurch.

It's the same dark corner that doesn't like liberal social commentary in their Star Trek. Nor lots of diversity in many combinations, or some such.
