Yeah, we have a decanter out for mixing bourbon, and everything else is away in the cabinet. Our friends who prefer their drinks mixed know they will get the stink eye if they sully some good bourbon with soda in this house.

Can’t believe I had to scroll down so far to find a rec for W. L. Weller! This is my cheap (but quality) go-to when we have parties and/or I want to mix with my bourbon. The Pappy guys actually said they drink Weller (I believe the 9 or 12 year) as a sub for their own.

Yup. She’s fighting centuries of cultural standards here. Its going to take a ton of time to get this changed. I agree with it though. Shake all the hands. Hugging on first meet is kinda really weird.

Buffalo Trace is good and inexpensive. Also (of course) Maker’s. Both are easy to drink neat or on the rocks, unlike Bulleit which (IMO) is better in a whiskey sour due to its harshness.

I’m fine with not drinking bulleit anymore, there are a lot of better bourbons for the same or lower price.

UPDATE: it appears Tenny Sandgren is a douche as well.
