dealerships are the reason automakers have no real feel of what the customer wants.

I’m not surprised. Hyundai pulled this bullshit with the Elantra GT N Line. They’d only send dealers one and jack the price up. Shockingly (to Hyundai, probably), it didn’t do well and they killed it here.
You SHALL understand the REQUIREMENTS.
Seriously, Torch needs to brush up on reading ISO 9001, or more importantly TS 16949 (the automotive requirements beyond ISO 9001).
Blame lawyers. Ambiguity goes against whoever wrote the agreement, so you’ll see “shall” an awful lot in order to avoid that.
It's about contracting language. These are the specs that Bluebird or whomever wins the contract must build to....
If you were bidding on a multimillion dollar bus contract, ignoring any of those “shalls” instantly puts you out of the running.
It’s not lawyering, it’s engineering. Engineers know one thing about “legal crap” which is to use the world SHALL whenever they want something to be done.
Use of the word “shall” is common in regulatory guidelines and is used to indicate a firm requirement. Whereas the word “should” indicates a recommendation or suggestion.
Shall has legal meaning, hence it’s use. “Shall” denotes a requirement, whereas “will” denotes a purpose.
Clearly a YMMV situation, since my truck’s wipers will freeze in place any time there’s enough sunlight to melt the precipitation on the glass, then refreeze before I start it.
Where in the name of Dale Earnhardt do you live that this is a problem? Can that many assholes really live in one place?
You must work for a very unhappy company :(
So I’ve commuted to NYC for the last 5 yrs leaving my car at the local train station through thick and thin. When I know we’re getting that annoying icy mix those blades are at full attention off the windshield along with about 60% of my commuting brethren. As noted in the article, it just facilitates a quick cleaning…
Eskimos have a shit-ton of words for all the different kinds of snow for a reason. I don’t lift my blades for any snow. Light and fluffy like often occurs in the far north? No need.
I think more people hate slideshows than have run out of gas.
Well, you and the PTB should be ashamed after the last time you did this stupid-ass slideshow using screen shots of comments. Knock it off.
Not the same thing. Tesla isn’t undercutting the market to eliminate their competitors, and they can’t keep other player from entering the market.
I would take exception to calling a Tesla a luxury vehicle.
So you want to pay a middle man so you can feel like you got a better deal than you did?
