Anytime I hear “Ecosport” I have to remind myself that it’s a whole model and not just a trim for the Edge or Escape.

Hey, the article just says this is how you avoid salt damage, not that it’s reasonable or even possible.  There’s a reason cars don’t last in the salt belt.

Remember, Elizabeth is a woman (no offense), and a bioethicist. Not being sexist here, but in my 50 years as a Mechanical engineer and auto mechanic, I have met ZERO women with any sense of knowledge or understanding of automobiles. And her being a bioethicist, what is the WORLD was she thinking of writing this

Unfortunately, spraying the underside with used motor oil is now illegal, so you’re only like 35 years out of date on that one....

Yeah no I mean these:

That “unpredictable” part is especially important. People should strive to be less “polite” in traffic, and more predictable.

Anytime you see someone make a couple sloppy moves in short succession, move far away. You don’t want someone else’s sloppy behavior to force your hand in an emergency situation.

Why is every main page now riddled with sex toy ads/articles? (Jalopnik, io9...)

Don’t forget you also need to stay away from puddles and blow trucks in other words leave your car in the garage for the winter, if you have one.....

  1. Get the salt off your car ASAP after driving through it. (Even if you’re someone who prefers to wash your car yourself, this is a good excuse for a trip to the car wash.)

That would require intelligence and empathy, two things sorely lacking at the modern stealership.

I really don’t get why dealers (and manufactures) still use the misleading lease payment thing. When I sold cars, almost every single time someone came in looking for the advertised $499/month payment and were presented with the real numbers being $100-200 more, they got mad and left. We almost never converted those

Not to be that guy, but anyone can patent anything. No guarantee it means anything, but I hope it’s real!

Testing on the feasibility of a High Energy Electromagnetic Field Generator (HEEMFG) occurred from October 2016 to September 2019; at a total cost of $508,000 over three years. The vast majority of expenditure was on salaries. The “Pais Effect” could not be proven and no further research was conducted.[8] Brett

Well, it’s an “expense” just like payroll itself. The point is that while employees see, say, $80k on their pay stubs, the “cost” to employer would be that $80k plus insurance, benefits, etc. The total would be the employees’ compensation package which they pay for with their labor.

People don’t realize they are already paying the full amount for their health insurance.

Pretty egregious for a hospital that takes government hand-0uts. I guess “responsibility” only applies to people, not corporations.

As a small business owner, I can assure you there’s no such thing as employer-provided insurance. EVERY EFFIN’ PENNY comes out of the employees’ compensation package. They’re paying for it whether they know or not.

I’m unclear on why someone would buy this? It’s 18W and $5 more expensive than Apple’s 20W charger. I guess it comes with a cable, but so does the iPhone 12. So what’s the advantage here?

Honestly, as someone who has like a dozen apple chargers lying around my house, This isn’t an issue to me and is probably ACTUALLY better for the environment as much as it is really about Apple’s bottom line.
