I was hoping this week would bring an article about 'Hardware Wars'. Has AVClub done an article on it already? I just remember it as being like a viral video pre-internet. My friends and I all had like 7th or 8th generation VHS copies.

Thanks. Yeah, I don't mind the language and actually, we just picked up one of those in-car DVD players last night for the boys - so they'll watch their Pixar stuff and we can turn the minivan's fader to front speakers only for our stuff.

My wife is sensitive to foul language, but I'll check those out. I don't know if

So, I guess Morgan Freeman has reached the point where his voice-over is basically just self-parody? I don't think he could sound less interested in what he's doing. Which is fine - he's earned his paycheck.

I don't know if this is the best method, but I'm posting this question on Facebook as well: We're making an 8-9 hour car drive for Thanksgiving. Our budget cellphone plan does not cover the back-woods areas of Nevada that we will drive through. I'm looking for some good Podcasts to listen to. Caveat: I'd like them to

Actually, MLA guides state that 12-pt font is standard. But yeah, they try to sneak in 13-pt sometimes, and widen the margins a bit. I'm normally a pretty easy-going guy, but I become a regular Walter Sobchak when MLA isn't followed.

As a teacher, it's all about Times New Roman. I think MLA allows for other fonts, but not me. Whenever I get a paper in Calibri - or so help me, Arial - I knock off points. When I get Comic Sans, I usually take pity on how stupid/clueless the student must be.

I haven't watched this show in a while, but the episode where Hal teaches Malcom to skate is still one of my favorite things ever. Great use of "Funkytown."

"We all know that the Death Star was blown up in the Battle of Yavin IV. What this film pre-supposes is… maybe it wasn't?"

Yeah, my 5-year-old loves "Darth Vader and Son". Part of me feels bad though, that he is essentially growing up knowing that Luke is Vader's son, so that takes away the big hit of the revelation in Empire.

Oh man. Going by the title, it seems like it may be about having an orgasm, or something. But the only line I can recall from the song is something like "The Reflex is a lonely child…" so the orgasm thing just doesn't seem right.

So, your $10 is safe.

When I was in 2nd grade, we had an assignment to write 2 or 3 sentences on who are hero is and draw a picture. I chose Simon Le Bon - it was right around the time this came out as a single and video. I thought he was the coolest guy ever, and 'The Reflex' was my anthem.

The Creation are so good. I think the guitarist used a bow (and whatever overdrive pedals) to get that sound.

I wonder if maybe Maynard didn't have his mohawk wig on for the interview.

Yeah, this name has plagued me. It was meant to be a joke - a riff on the fact that in my younger days, my friends and I would name D&D characters after increasingly obscure characters in the SW and Star Trek universes. So the joke was to just name a character "Obscure Star Wars Reference." So, when I finally got

Exactly. "Do or do not, there is no try" sounds pretty absolute to me.

Oh man. The trailer alone is terrible.

I saw that, and I remember Poe having a song that was fairly popular in the mid-90s. I'll have to seek that out and give it a listen as I read.

It wasn't mentioned in the article, but Over the Garden Wall of course has some fantastic scares. My 3- and 5-year-old kids love that miniseries. It's got a really great balance of scares and humor - all with a really great fairy tale vibe. Probably my favorite thing to come from Cartoon Network. (Just barely edging

Yes, that's it, it's a trade paperback - it's roughly 10 inches high by 7 wide. And the retail is $21, which - now that I think about it - is a little pricey. I must have gotten it on clearance or possibly through Amazon, because I wouldn't normally pay that much.

The cover states I have "The Remastered Full-Color Edition" - not sure if that is the same as the deluxe, probably not as I don't remember shelling out an inordinate amount of money for the book (but it was a few years ago, so my memory may be lacking). But it's just paperback. And the cover is annoyingly not as wide
