I read this and I’ve now spent about 30 minutes wondering about the lives of the respective parties involved given what we know from the obit. Take what we know about Kathleen Dehmlow: Married at 18-19 (so young), two kids and pregnant with a third by 24 (still really young). Moves to California, abandoning two kids…

The Internet can be a vile place, so it says a lot when even darker corners of it respects Fred Rogers. The man was who he was: a good man with a great mind and the heart we all ideally should strive for.

I am still not over Jim Henson. When I think about how he died right when computer animation was just starting to become feasable, and the kind of things he could have done with some of the technological wonders that followed, it’s just heartbreaking all over again.

I am going to watch this in my living room by myself because I’m one of those kids from the 70s who was basically raised by Mister Rogers and I can’t imagine watching something like this around other people.

I remember that, as a kid, I thought that Mr. Rogers Neighborhood was boring. I watched it - it was on in the middle of Sesame Street and Electric Company - but it was slow and not funny and old-fashioned.

You’re conveniently forgetting the part where he helped throw a guy who asked Jesse Cox a transphobic question out of CoxCon and caught a ton of flack for Nazis online. Or the part where his political and social views turned around significantly in the past two years of his life.

Wu was a piece of shit who latched onto other women who were raising real concerns and doing real work to further inclusiveness in the industry on both development and critical side... she just wanted some of that sweet internet fame by making false claims of harassment and pretending to be a developer.

If this stems from GamerGate I stayed as far away from it as I could and I have no idea who was for/against what or why.
