No. I’ll freely admit to being wrong about Louis, but the nature of the previous non-stories were crap and deserved to be called out as the rumor-mongering they were.

As far as automatically thinking someone is guilty in these situations, I tend to differentiate between when it’s only 1 accuser vs say 10 or a 100 of them.

To be fair, Arbuckle probably was innocent. He was a beloved comedian with a family-friendly reputation who didn’t want anyone to know he was stepping out on his wife (from whom he’d secretly been separated for several years). And his “victim” was a respectable career woman who wasn’t exactly going to advertise that

With the high impact these allegations have had on many famous people, I think the chances are good that there are some false accusations from people with a personal vendetta. I am wary of any one-off accusations, so unless there’s a pattern of abusive behavior from Tambor, color me skeptical.
