Thanks.

Frenchman here, so an expert ;-p

Alternative ROMs, both from the official LineageOS guys and unofficial stuff for lesser-known devices or forgotten major devices.

Quantity over quality.

My Mom makes a killer Shrimp amuse-bouche:

My mom is in love with “Champagne Soup”, which she mostly makes with non-Champagne except for major occasions.

I’m back to buying and ripping 2nd-hand DVDs because it’s much cheaper and safer: I *know* I’ll have it when and where I want it, as opposed to it being linked to one of ten $10-20/mo service

How come I didn’t get any ?????

Bobby Tables ?

I taught my nepehw the “Freeze !” Game. I’ld say “Freeze !”, he’d stopped moving for 5-10 secs. Repeat a few times, done !

Beg to differ.

That’s the issue. I can justify getting one luxury phone as a lark. But then the whole family pretty much *has* to get one too, and because they’re expensive you must get Apple Care, and because they work better with iPads and Macs you get those too... That indulgent single 1k turns into several hundreds... per month.

Some still buy phones to do things, and are rather agnostic as to the OS. My iBrother switched to Android to get better pictures, that’s the only thing he really cares about, any phone is good enough for whatever else he does with it. Pics are key.

When using Android phones, have you found that you can change the keyboard to whatever has an autocorrect that you like ? Because, you can. Ditto for most of the interface, you can get different launchers. MIUI is very iOS-like.

Come on, $750 is not “affordable’. Nowhere near it. The overwhelming majority of users (I’d say 80%) won’t do anything more with this phone than what they’d do with a $150 Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.

Main question: how can you request, and implement, substitutions in a bouillabaisse which takes several hours to prepare and cook ?

I go about it the other way around: I entrust the curation to editors and subscribe to the RSS feeds of worthy sites.

You should buy a hint: you’re not into loving cars, which on balance is a Good Thing, there are way better things to pour your love and money into.

On the PC, you click on a “Done” button once you’re done. But the PC isn’t aware (or doesn’t care ?)  if/when, you scanned the code on your phone, so you can scan it several times.

Isn’t an IR-equipped phone such as the Xiaomi Redmis even better, with the right app ?
