As I said in the other thread, what good is having a phone that acts as a hotspot when you can't browse the web and talk on the phone at the same time? You're telling me I either have to interrupt my web browsing to talk on the phone, or ignore my phone calls to download my email? Big deal.

@certifiedfryguy: This is Verizon we're talking about, so of course you can use your upgrade for any phone you want, provided it's a free phone with a two year service agreement.

@tater_salad: Have you tried to stream Netflix on a 3G connection? It's not that great.

"Can I take my existing number to my new iPhone?

@districtdon19: I don't think so. It's a CDMA only phone, which means it's only good on Verizon, Sprint, or in China.

What good is it as a hotspot if your phone is disabled while you're browsing? Or if your browsing session gets interrupted every time the phone rings?

Actually, it's just a bit of lime Jell-O that got smudged on the screen. Ha ha!

@orhun: He's referring to Beethoven, not the Philips corp.

@Robert Dunseith: No. That's absurd. Everyone knows that Stevie J (as those who know him best get to call him) flies around on a golden unicorn with diamond encrusted Corinthian leather tack. Jeez.

@snitch: True, but only one of those carriers was a US carrier. And this could be as big as AT&T's deal, if not bigger. So if Steve were to show up at any press conference not unveiling a new product, it's logical to conclude it would be this one.

So, is this because the new Back to the Future game reportedly features a rocket bike instead of a hover board?

Ok, I've read this far

@nikk3h: The HDMI cable is the same for both. Many laptops with built in HDMI do not have audio through HDMI. It's possible that there is a setting in your laptop to enable audio over HDMI, more likely that you need a second cable, usually 1/8", to send audio signal from the headphone jack.

@budmaloney: Well, they need to make their money somewhere. The markup on your average HDTV is somewhere around 2%.

@Channan: I think he was being facetious. Cingular bought AT&T years before the iPhone was even a thought. In 2005 they retired the Cingular brand and simply became AT&T Wireless.

This smells like pie in the sky to me. Just too good to be true. If it happens, it will be for a limited time, and when that time ends, Verizon is going to screw it's customers. That's just what they do.

@countjackula: You'll buy what we tell you to buy, dammit. And you'll like it.

Well, it's a good thing that's a picture of a NY police officer. Don't have to worry about him!
