Precisely what they’re trying to fight: Birkenstock wants to keep its trademark, and not lose it to becoming a generic term. Xerox had a whale of a fight on its hands a few decades ago to stop the spread of its name as a generic term for copies. Fun trivia: Aspirin and Escalator were once trademarked brand names.

This bootleg is such poor quality that the characters look like blocks!

You can’t go after them because they are in other countries. But Amazon and eBay are FINANCIALLY benefiting from the false/trademarked advertising in YOUR country. They are actively contributing to trademark infringement. Period.

But that would basically mean going after Chinese makers of knockoffs. They know that’s a non-starter because China’s court system and copyright protections are a parody of a joke, so they go after Amazon.
