Thanks for the tip. I’ve been looking for something that’s washable unlike Swiffer mops. Fortunately, it’s still available on Amazon (search for O-Cedar Hardwood Floor ‘N More Microfiber Flip Mop). Replacement mop heads were available as well.

I like my set -- the only caveat is for short people like me (I’m 5' 2+-ish). They are LONG compared to a set of fixed dumb bells.

Another vote for vintage cast iron because of the weight. I replaced 2 Lodges with similar sized vintage pans (Griswold/Erie 8 and 5). The smaller pan was lighter by a half pound. The vintage 12 pan is about the same weight as the medium sized (8) Lodge.
Had it not been for BMW/MINI’s financing on certain vehicle models, I was set to finance through one of my credit unions (I belong to four*). I can do the math, 0.9% < 2.0%.
And, the Griswolds are thinner than a modern Lodge. I have a vintage Griswold that is 300 g lighter than the same size Lodge — that’s about 3/4 of a pound. It’s so noticeable that my largest pan (12" Griswold) is easier to handle than the smaller Lodge (10").
Depends on the height of the toilet. I have tall toilets in my house (17" to the bowl edge). SqP recommends the 9" height for these toilets. Being new to the Squatty Potty, I decided on the 7" and regretted it. I am short, my feet don’t reach the floor when sitting on these toilets. A taller person might fit the 7" on…

No - you are not a Luddite! Mine is similar (less chrome and glass front on oven). It came with the house we bought — I wanted to buy the house even more because the stove came with it! (damn, I'm taking this thing with me if we ever move). The broiler is aces, the stove holds temperature well and weekend breakfasts…
How about the World Made by Hand series by James Howard Kunstler? Not quite the usual Sci-Fi post-apocalyptic tale but a post-oil and post-economic collapse world is on that is thrown back in time.
Another vote for this one — I love this mug! It cleans easily, in dishwasher or by hand.

Hear hear! I ditched most electric gadgets along time ago. I pretty much went acoustic in the kitchen except for a hand mixer and rice cooker. I did want a stand mixer - ended up with a Bosch machine mixer because of the flexibility. You can get a blender, slicer, food processor or a meat grinder arrangement. Knead…
What the article didn't really factor in was ground transportation. Car rental prices plus gas *and* air fare (nearest large airport is 100 miles from me) was prohibitive. Forget taking the regional airport - that's even worse on the wallet and chronometer.
