Thank you,
A few years of enjoyment will put it at 200,000 miles, and you’re not getting $15,000 out of a 200,000 mile car, just like this guy isn’t getting $16,500 out of a 166,000 mile car. Also, this is about the miles these things start rapidly falling apart. I think this dude probably knows about quite a few things about…
If everyone’s buying them at this price it’s the market price. If everyone’s listing them this high and they are sitting, it’s too much.
No, this is listed way too high.
For an E36 M3 it is THE color, fits the era and car just perfectly.
Just the right age and miles to start the long, expensive march to the junkyard.
Yes, it’s a rebadged GTP
Possibly a softer suspension but otherwise the same.
P.S. No dissing on GE refrigerators, this 1960s gem is still keeping beverages cold and pizzas frozen in my basement, and will probably outlive me.
I remember looking at this exact kit car when I was in college. (Don’t do the math, I’m old.) Although I was leaning toward the standard 356 replica, it didn’t take much to realize it would cost more than $10,000 to build a car that was basically a plastic VW Beetle convertible with no comfort, convenience, or safety.
And it comes with an interior that didn’t make me throw up in my mouth a little.
As of this moment, 47 poor souls have ruined what was a perfectly good 100% ND in the making. This is why we can’t have nice things. Asshats.
Maybe $10K, but damn sure not much more.
Exactly. I’d pay more for a stock-looking Speedster kit car with a VW four than I would for this flared Corvair-powered car. There’s just no reason to want this thing.
Oh look, here’s a Beck Speedster for $33k:
Always wanted to see NP/ND hit 100 percent red NO DICE?
At $35,500, Is This Corvair-Powered 1957 Porsche Speedster Kit Car A Mashup That’s On The Money?
>$30k for a well done replica? Maybe if it was one of those Stratos kits...
This is a good one because I have 2WD XJ from 2000, with just over 220k miles. That I bought for $850. Granted it needed some work, but now it’s fine, runs really well. I often wonder, if I’d paid more for it or not. And every time, I come to the same conclusion. No. I don’t understand what the point of 2WD XJ…
