That would be my worry, that a simple issue would render it useless and the shop I trust with my weird stuff would go 'well, what did you THINK was gonna happen?' Some guy brought an early 70s Saab there and the guy told me 'I told the guy who brought this in, this Saab is gonna bankrupt you.' This would just be a 9k

Check out the Motor Week review of this. You'd think it was about to be the best selling car of the 80s. They couldn't say enough positive things about it. John Davis positively gushes over it!!

I literally pass by Tracy's house all the time. Couldn't believe it was real when I saw it for the first time. He is as real as it gets. Jeeps parked all over the property in various stages of work. It's jaw dropping to see the mythical House Of David Tracy for real.

Exactly. Good way to learn that car ownership ain't all rainbows and butterflies.

Here here

I feel like there is a good story you're keeping from us, here!

These are definitely 'divorced dad' cars. Of course, the Dodge Journey if you came out of it with a little cash left in the bank and someone is letting you sleep on their couch.

This is a free 'best of luck to you' car all day long. I'd chuckle when the guy said there was actually a price attached to this.

It has an appeal to someone, and when you consider that it was something that used to be EVERYWHERE and now are a rarity, I think if it was clean, it would be spot-on. I know it 'should' be a brown 240 DL with a stick, but this IS someone's brown DL. Someone has an emotional connection to these. Frankly, I'm *almost*

Yea and the thing is, he’s probably trying to recoup money FROM the purchase of those ridiculous rims.

You know, what is all this talk of 'if you don't wrench, you don't belong here'??? Well my apologies. I have 18 jobs and an awesome independent shop I pay to work on both my cars. I'm a professional and people pay me to do what I do. Why the hell is it a damn crime for me to pay auto mechanic professionals to do

Exactly. I think there is some over-thinking going on here.

The vibe is just totally different tho. It's like when my friend's slick 90s Impala got stolen and the insurance company was so excited to tell him they were gonna replace it with an 08 or something. Different ballpark entirely.

A CARmudgeon!!

This is the purest ND I’ve voted in a while. Love the truck and I feel like it would be a great ownership experience. But that price, and the auction WITH RESERVE backs it up that the seller wants THAT amount, is just silly. What's with the LA listings anyway? Ah well. I've known some people who moved from the

The Iron Duke is only enough in my Fiero because I’ve learned how to squeeze every bit of interestingness out of it. I cannot imagine that in a Camaro. Good god.

Is it hard to get ANY insurance with a salvage title or just any GOOD insurance? Because I feel like I'd roll the dice on this. I'm the only person I know who even KIND of thinks that these are cool. How much would it be to just have basic garbage insurance?

At first I thought this was just 'not right for me' but I cannot imagine this being a worthwhile use of anyone's time. It looks like it needs EVERYTHING and rust repair....... I've been down that road. Once you start spending on that, it just becomes regular and frequent maintenance. Noooo thanks

I love these. So much. There's a guy on Underappreciated Survivors on fb who has an absolutely stunning aqua colored one. Just... Art. Absolutely art. This, at 100k miles, seems a little scary but I'd roll the dice and deal with the consequences. I'd prefer it at about 60k, but hey, in 2020 we can't honestly ask for

I feel like this is priced correctly. That said, I can't imagine spending 25k and knowing it was 'just the beginning' which is what I always hear about Lotuses... Lotii? Anyway. But what I realize is that my feeling about that is just a reflection of my income level. I imagine that my feeling of 'why hell not, roll
