My dad named our cat Lapoe (pron. LAY-poh) after the U2 song "Love and Peace or Else." This was based on his theory that she was always scratching and attacking us because she was trying to show affection. Our dog came with the name Dakota, but I gave her the nickname Koty after a stuffed bear I owned as a kid.

What I wanna know is what kind of "friendship" they have in which they can make a "no emotions" rule.

Maybe it's meant to go on a train themed cake?

When I first heard about this, I wasn't sure how I felt about it. Then I realized it kind of works with how superficial and conceited Mac is. He's always wearing sleeveless shirts to show off his "guns," considers himself a karate expert despite never having taken a single martial arts lesson, etc. I don't think this

Art is traditionally something that people choose to participate in. Fashion as it has become in modern times is a set of arbitrary standards by which everyone is judged whether they want to be or not.

His sock puppet commenter accounts were always reminding people that "Scott Adams is a certified genius" but apparently not smart enough to realize how obvious he was being.

lol, I recently realized that I had to admit that my feet were actually a size smaller than I had always thought. I felt inexplicably sad, but only a little. Explains why when I wore sandals that were too big, women were always saying things like "Oh my gosh! Your feet are so tiny!" They always seemed to think that

I'm all about running shoes. Even converse sneakers are too fashion-y for me. Flat soles? Ouch!

I'm still allowed to hate Kudzu right?

Seems pretty hypocritical of Ken who probably comes in the same kind of packaging.

I thought both episodes were horrible, messy, confusing and insanely preachy yet without a clear message. I also hate that Amy is now yet another pregnancy horror plot device. Glad I'm not the only one.

I don't see how this is a "system" when the beads aren't being exchanged back and forth. The way I understand what has been explained, the beads aren't currency, they're one-time-only coupons. So is the "sexy secret" setting a limit of having sex only 40 times per marriage? I'm seriously confused.

I got the impression that the woman in the song felt huge regret over shooting the man. She's not glamorizing or normalizing violence. She's not boasting about it or using it to gain respect or power. She's portraying it as something that is very serious and can't be undone, something with massive consequences.

I think skin-lightening products are popular in India. I don't know much about the cultural biases and implications though.

The pants one was kind of funny but why was this posted on Jezebel with no mention of how HORRIBLE it is? If we get harassed on the street, it is our fault for what we are wearing. And if we don't, we should feel insulted and put on some make-up so we are up to the standards of harassers. There's plenty of other

If you have to zoom in that close to justify freaking out, it seems like a pretty stupid thing to fuss over to me.

Having breasts is always a conflict of interests.

I just want to say that I LOVE ReelGrrls and have supported them for a while now. It's a great program. I even did a presentation on it for my Media Theory class last year. These girls are being taught how to be aware of media influence and not let corporations push them around.

You forgot they're also poor and stay in shitty hotels.

The Onion has an excellent video satirizing how sympathy and unconditional defense are given to the accused as long as they are famous or somehow powerful. It's not in the same manner as Ben Stein, but I must take the opportunity to post it because it is so awesome.
