Eh. I understand the “southern belle” message and photography is not an accurate representation of the southern states in the nineteenth century (it avoids the more sinister components). It still does not make me as uncomfortable as white women wearing aboriginal headdresses or geisha clothing as halloween costumes.

Yes. There is a huge misconception about the mortality rates in the middle ages. There were plenty of people who lived to be fifty or sixty...if they survived infancy, childhood, and childbirth. Those women lacked birth control and modern medical assistance.

I know I have been guilty of judgemental comments on flushing tampons, attachment parenting, and anti-hospital birth posts. It just is not something I understand or support. I have accepted that some posts are not worth commenting on.

I don’t think it is necessary to go to a sex shop with middle schoolers either. My grandmother was a sexual health nurse in the seventies. I think having someone like that give a presentation on sexual health and wellbeing would be far more beneficial than a woman trying to sell a pink crystal studded dildo.
