that sounds really neat. it becomes a strange thing looking at art when your brain immediately wants to conduct a formal analysis and pick apart the historical significance of... I still love it all very much though.

It’s really awesome (I’m in art history) but sometimes it can get very strange very quickly. There is a publication that I got recommended to read about the significance of gendered dress in pockets of the 18th century.

I have been working on a tedious study of fashion, wig, and cosmetic caricature during the eighteenth century. I have decided (after working on it too long) that the undercut for men is the new powdered wig. I am now expecting a mincing walk and a taste for Italian food amongst all the hipster narcissists that get

Toronto

No we do not. It is weird seeing Canadian cities being passed off as American cities though.

She behaved childishly during the affair as well. It was a mess.

I think “women staring at men’s crotch: it’s flirting.” I am a bad example for this (lesbian) but I do not know any straight woman who flirts by looking at a straight man’s crotch.

I agree with this. The character of Dean was a suitable high school boyfriend for Rory. I think they wrote him as increasingly unintelligent and aggressive to make Jess more appealing. Jess is not very appealing in high school once the comparison to jealous and angry Dean is removed.

They might be more R&B than bubblegum pup but they are not soulful. Those songs have four and five word lines. That does say “soul” to me. It says “incoherent moaning.”

I do not agree with Lena Dunham but I will agree that I am done hearing about squirting.

Yes it is. She was trying to think of a reason to have tampons when she was living as her brother.

I don’t think it is bad that One Direction is bubblegum pop or sugar pop. It’s just what it is. It’s music created for a demographic of young teenage girls and often has soft romance references.

He sounds bored and he looks bored.

^ this. Zayn Malik, once a bubblegum pop band member, always bubblegum pop band member. No amount of swearing and hair dying will change that.

I am still cackling that he thought his music independent of the group was going something other than sugar pop. He already has a demographic. I don’t think that demographic is going to change much.

It all sucks.

I liked her in season one. Then it became much harder to like her.

I think that a lot of the male characters were allowed to deteriorate to make it acceptable for the female characters break up with them. Dean became even more possessive and jealous. Jess becomes even more careless and callous. Logan becomes even more spoiled and entitled.

What were the anti-fat comments? I’m sure they were there, I just do not remember them.

I asked what was happening if it wasn’t attempted date rape - it was an uncomfortable scene - he pushes her, she pushed him off of her, and he yells at her for not yielding. I did not post the upper thread. I did post elsewhere -“when he tries to encourage her to have sex despite her saying no” - as an example of him
