Yep, the taillights gave it away. Kinda looks like a large bolt pattern on the wheels, which makes me wonder if it has some other sort of axle, but probably just adapters (if anything).
That’s such a difficult discussion. Where is the sweet spot between neglecting them and wearing them out? I suspect most people reading this site have or at least know of a car like this. My dad has an ‘85 Nissan 300ZX that he took apart for a timing belt job over 10 years ago. He started cleaning and painting parts,…
My yard looks similar. Except for the addition of kids toys/swingset/jungle gym. But out of respect for my wife (for letting me do this to most of our property), I keep the car parts out of the house, and I keep a space for her to park in the garage at night.
Was that a Subaru of America display? Sure looks like the XT Turbo they restored for SEMA a few years ago. Pretty cool seeing those ‘80s models in such amazing condition!
Great article. I’ve been fascinated with the 959 as long as I can remember. I had the 959, F40, and Countach posters in my room, and Hot Wheels cars as well.
I saw that, too. WTF?
Now can they sell it?
Kinda struck a nerve, there, didn’t you?
I had this issue with a Chrysler 200 we rented. Except it was the Blower knob that was easily confused. I actually pulled into a parking space, turned the blower off, and then took my foot off the brake once. We only rolled a few inches before I noticed that it wasn’t in Park, but still made me hate the car with…
I make no claim to expertise, but in the video series, they mention that it has to do with a displacement relative to the factory equipment. So going from a 2.0 or 2.5 to a Turbo 5.3 is not OK, even though it’s factory equipment on other vehicles.
FI can also mean “Forced Induction”...
Yep, adding a roof to a car designed as a convertible. Probably coming out ahead.
FYI, you don’t want to let the master cylinder in a car go dry like that. I don’t think it’s a big deal in a bike, but the larger ones on a car can be a nightmare to get the air out without bench bleeding. Much better to clamp off the hose, and then flush new fluid through.
I drove a V6 5MT Solar convertible once. I did not find it Meh. It was....terrifying. All of the torque steer.
I have a theory that a 1MZ/2GR could be put in one (been done in other ZZ cars), even with a 5MT AWD.
Take a breath and read the article.
No. We almost never have to go to the parts store with a part number to cross reference.
