260,000 Minnesota miles. It’s rusty. Cosmetically, and structurally, rear subframe is broken. It should be parted out, but I can’t bring myself to do it, and I think I have a line on a cheap rear subframe...

Whatever it is, the Outback is not the way to replocate the exact look of this concept. But, if it yields an SVX Shooting Brake, I call it a win.

Don’t worry, while it’s not been in an accident, this one is not one worth saving.

Hmmm...I have an SVX, an Outback parts car, and a welder....

What years was that? This body style was ‘90-’94.

Probably not. AFAIK, all the legacy turbos of that vintage were made in Japan (we did some searching years ago, and only the japanese-built chassis appear to have the holes pre-drilled in the firewall for a hydraulic clutch master, which would be unique to the turbos).

Figures this post would happen while I’m on vacation...

“WRC is NASCAR”

While I think that’s an absurd amount of money, even as an owner of a lifted Brat. I believe it might sell for that, or at least close to it. I’ve had people stop and knock on my door asking if I’d sell mine, and the truth is I can’t, in good conscience, accept the kind of money it would cost me to buy another one.

I cringed when I read that you got a junkyard brake line.

Why does either side have to be blamed? It’s change, and while I like it even less than most, I also understand that it’s inevitable.

I’m jealous of the base model trim. I have an ‘87 4Runner SR5 Turbo, which has a digital dash (unique and almost unobtainable fuel sending unit, failed oil pressure display), power windows (unique and almost unobtainable window switches, they work about 90% of the time now after disassembly and a vigorous cleaning).

On my 1985 RX-7 (FB) if you push the lock down then close the door, it unlocks. Makes it all but impossible to lock the keys in the car, but also makes it a pain to actually lock the car. This is on both doors.

Extra strange was that one cylinder bank laid on its side. It all looks a bit more orderly if you tilt your head to make the middle bank stand upright.

Yep. Sure sounds like they asked a couple times, and then went right to bullying.

Without launching a major investigation of my own, I think it’s fair to assume that very few criminal car part slingers will be getting the same premium price that a dealership or bodyshop charges consumers for any of these things.

There’s a guy locally here with a 914 with a euro-spec 928S V8 in the middle of his 914...

(except for the brake lines, which look good)

Alex is definitely crazy. He’s repeatedly gotten into the crazy seat next to Leo

Yep. Next year we can start importing ST205s. I’m already watching the market...
