Yes many states have laws about "altering" an ID, but I can assure you that writing your phone number in a blank spot on the back isn't going to land you in jail. I've never heard of anyone being formally charged for writing something on the back of an ID.

You're absolutely right about FFXI being before WoW, but popular MMORPGs have a much longer popularity lifespan than non-MMORPG games in general, and thus a mere 2 year difference from FFXI to WoW is not much really. A LOT of people who were getting bored of WoW after a few years were trying out FFXI, and thus to them

Is this a regional kind of thing? I've lived in the northern-midwest as well as in the southern US, and I've never had chili that didn't contain beans. I just thought it was always a part of the chili recipe. For me, chili isn't complete without beans, especially since the beans are the only thing keeping my acid

Something I never see anyone do, which surprises me, is the following:

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd (Japan only) has an excellent DLC system. Buy the game, then DLC is offered for free.

There's a key difference between physical sexual attraction between straight men and women. These contrasting works of art can serve a purpose, but it just shows that there's a difference between cultural portrayals of men and women in terms of sexuality. As a society, we typically don't portray men in skimpy outfits

We can all recognize the art of the female as a shameless sex-appeal ad. It's really not relevant to the game, to boot!

I would also suggest Demon's Souls castle of Boletaria, and although it doesn't look good in a single screenshot, Dracula's Castle from a game like Portrait of Ruin is just enormous. Looks better to see the big castle from the outside in a 3D game, of course!

Sending his manager an e-mail about the venting? Now THAT would be some serious revenge...

Gotta be critical again, sorry...

You can always disable/shutdown unnecessary programs that are running (check the System Tray). Don't use any of the big, bloated anti-virus suites... a simple AVAST or AVG Free is good enough. Turn on "Gaming Mode" or "Silent Mode" to prevent getting kicked out of your fullscreen game.

I can say from personal experience that most Americans I know, including myself (at times), eat WAY too much. I used to hit the gym 3 times a week and then run a mile a day everyday of the week, plus play a few recreational sports... and I wasn't really losing any of my small but annoying amount of belly fat.

Anyone tried it in the PSP version? I would assume it doesn't work.

As an avid gamer, I'd prefer they just stick to unique names for each console generation. As we've seen from the Wii / Wii U debacle, a lot of less knowledgeable gamers are getting confused. Can't forget the news article asking whether the Wii U can save the Wii, thinking the Wii U was a controller peripheral for the

Pre-rendered backgrounds could look pretty good, but to be honest the presence of 3D rendered sprites on top of them just held too strong a contrast for me. The locked-in perspective combined with the sometimes awkward collision detection and inability to tell where exactly you can and can't go was just a pain.

Oh boy! I can't wait for an HD remake of FFXIII!

I get the feeling XII HD ain't gonna happen...

Oh, and Patricia, you are perfect Kotaku material. I can just tell from this article.

LONG VERSION: As Mike Fahey pointed out in his comment the term "homophobic" definitely is being used too broadly — and completely incorrectly!

I sometimes sit down for breakfast, but unlike the lady in the photo I never sit *ON* my breakfast. I usually use a chair.
