Shadow mechanics are surprisingly costly on processing power and are hardly noticed when they're missing. One of the first things I sacrifice to get a smoother 60FPS on my PC games is shadow quality.

I hate to be negative again... but this redesign is so terrible, you'd almost think it were an April Fools' joke — if it didn't come so much sooner.

As expected, it looks really good — but it doesn't look like a "game" is being played, because it's not.

Gotta be honest here guys... I've seen much, much skimpier stuff at just about every game's expo that I've been to or seen pictures of. It's standard fare to have "booth babes" or cosplayers wearing less than this all other the place.

I gotta say that once I found them, I stuck with the Carbine Rifle and the Machine Gun for most of the game, switching the Machine Gun for the Repeater later. I was very happy with that combo for the most part.

I find it hard to believe that anyone who is well-versed in the nature of the internet was surprised that there were trolls being trolls.

To give some constructive feedback, I have to say that apart from the usual "it's new I don't new" argument...

Yes, thank you Lifehacker! I get so tired of hearing completely uninformed online content creators just claim "fair use" as a catch-all for everything. So many uploaders will put a copyrighted song in the background and just claim "it's fair use," or that it's ok because they aren't making a profit and attributed the

I really enjoyed AVG Free until they started pushing ads a little harder. I also have a beef with some of these free apps use very tricky, sneaky, and "underhanded" tactics to get you to install their bloatware — ridiculously useless browser toolbars and the like. They make it appear like you're just clicking through

This reminded me of the major national news network that ran an entire segment on the "Wii U," asking if the new Wii U could help breathe "new life" into the Wii, or if it would just be a dead accessory.

Let me give the best suggestion I can that you will be reluctant to do:

Previous entries in this series are available for the GameCube, Wii, and DS, so you should have no problem finding a cheap used copy for one of those to test it out. Check Amazon and Craigslist and you should find one super cheap.

This is awesome advice I got that I'll pass on to you: anytime you're talking to a customer service rep over the phone concerning financial matters such as credit cards, SSN, credit lines, etc., you have a legal US right to request a customer service rep located in the US, and they have to provide you with one.

This makes sense... most players want to play a good guy who has the most access to the variety of weapons available. At least, for the first playthrough. That explains the popularity of the "Soldier" class.

Yes it is, which I should have mention. Check your local state's laws to make sure it's a one-party consent state. Telling the other parties generally absolves you of the responsibility legally, but then they know you're recording and won't pull their usual questionable moves.

He's one of the most popular "comedic reviewers" on the web, and is well-known to most of your other "big shots" like Angry Joe and the Nostalgia Critic.

Agreed.

And so perhaps they were a good idea back in the 80's... but try to remember what computers looked like, felt like, and how they operated back then versus in the mid- to late-90's. Right-click quickly became an efficient, convenient mechanism that people learned to depend on.

Obviously you're right, it's a matter of opinion.. but FFX is as "objectively bad" as can possibly be proven. Google "Spoony final fantasy x" to see a whole series of videos pointing out why the game is absurdly ridiculous, is full of stupid designs, and has numerous obvious and unnecessary plot-holes.

I can't stand how we're seeing an HD remaster of two terrible FF games, and yet VI, VII, and IX still haven't been given a face-lift. All of which are infinitely better than X. But that, of course, is obvious.
