How was it ridiculous from the beginning? I admit now it’s looking a little fishy but you can’t say it seemed ridiculous from the beginning. A lot of bad people do horrible shit that seems like shit out of a cartoon or comic book all the time. Not that even this seemed that far fetched in the first place. 

That’s my point. Nobody will fall for their bullshit usually. But if they have a real life case that they can call a “win” then it just makes them look less crazy.
