“Heineken?! F*ck that sh*t!

In college (in ye olde pre-everything-is-available-on-streaming days of 1999) I made a project out of tracking down and watching every Best Picture winner. A lot of them were really dated or just had no impact because of the Citizen Kane Effect, but Gentleman’s Agreement was one of my favorites.

I’m just here to be petty about all the people that always come out of the woodwork to spout about how they never even heard of [person that’s revealed to be a piece of shit] or their [art/music/acting skills] sucked anyways, etc. as if they’re a better person for not enjoying said piece of shit person.

Not to defend the guy, but you not knowing any of his songs doesn’t fucking mean anything. At all. I can’t name one of his songs, but my knowledge of his music doesn’t fucking matter, either. There are many musicians that impact millions of people without having a number one hit record. The guy is worth many

I said this yesterday, but I don’t think I could count on two hands the number of young female artists that Adams has been closely tied to either professionally or personally, only for all ties to be abruptly severed. (Sometimes their careers disappeared afterward, too.) If even a fraction of those women had similar

Karen Elson had also posted something (since deleted?) about Adams. She really didn’t want to get into specifics but it sounded really bad.

It looks like something you’d but for 120$ at Kate Spade. It’s pretty, but not in a ‘I want to spend the rest of do my life with you’ kind of way. But it's tacky the way she is, so it makes sense.

Q. is Brock Turner in jail right now?
A. No.
Therefore, he was set free after 3 months in jail and three years probation. For rape. For boys will be boys. Because she was drunk. Because she was wearing clothes. You’re defending rapists.

And getting engaged on Valentine’s Day is equally on-brand as far as cheesiness goes.

There’s always a convenient reason to blame the women and excuse the men. She didn’t fight him off hard enough! She should’ve left him! She shouldn’t have been walking there/ drinking there/ dressed like that! Anything to keep them from considering that maybe the man is an abusive asshole.

This comment section will likely become a clusterfuck, but thanks for the review. I’ve only seen the first episode and it was enraging, but very good.

I hate it, too but it does suit her aesthetic (which I also hate.)

Regarding the ring, I know this is a downer but I have to share this as a mining industry professional...

My favorite part is seeing the misogynists come out of the woodwork to try and say that abused women who fight back against their abusers are wrong because they didn’t go get support. Or that maiming in self-defense is somehow worse than killing him in self-defense. Ignoring that the early 90s were even worse than

I looks like some shit my kid gets out of a plastic bubble at the pizza place by our house.

I was going to say that I am pretty sure I had a ring from Claire’s that looked just like that when I was in middle school. Eek!

When I was little, my grandma had a stash of dolls and cheap costume jewelry from 40s-60s the in the front room for my sister and me to play with when we were over at her house, so she could chat (drink) with my dad in peace. One of Grandma’s rings looked EXACTLY like Perry’s.

I like when people go outside the box with their engagement ring but omg I really hate that one.

I can’t believe the Steele is played by an aging Brendan Fraser and it’s never brought up in the article!

There’s a spectrum of “breaking it” into the music biz. When you’re opening up for people who regularly play and sell out respectable theaters like The Beacon, The Ryman, Red Rocks, etc, that could be considered “breaking through” to a singer-songwriter. Like a lot of people are joking “who?” because Ryan Adams isn’t
