Ugh, those numbers just remind me that Hannibal would be considered a success if it aired on cable (where it belongs).

Agreed. Deadwood is my favorite show ever, but I've always felt pretty underwhelmed by the intro. The show deserved better.
Carnivale and Les Revenants have really good ones, with great music.
I see True Detective more as "shiny stuffs that [people] won't care about in a year" but Hannibal is already right up there with Deadwood as one of my favorite shows of all time.
A David Lynch cooking show already exists and it's called Hannibal.
The names Miriam Lass and Georgia Madchen don't have some secret anti-feminist message, they're just nods to characters (Miriam "Reggie" Lass and Georgia Lass, who was also played by Ellen Muth) in Dead Like Me, a previous show of his.
A++++++++++++. Not a single imperfect moment.
A-.
Claire had an abortion on Six Feet Under, and it was upsetting for her but she never blamed herself or agonized over the decision. She knew she had to do it and she did it. I remember admiring how the show handled it because that trope drives me crazy, too.
This is good news to me. There were rumors last year that A&E was considering picking up Hannibal if NBC canceled it, so maybe if they're looking for another murder show to go with Bates Motel and NBC drops the ball this year, that (possible) offer will still be on the table.
I managed to get through 6 seasons of Dexter and I don't remember it ever being anywhere near on par with Hannibal.
1. Game of Thrones
2. The Good Wife
3. Hannibal
4. The Americans
5. Archer
6. Brooklyn Nine-Nine
7. Veep
8. Mad Men
Yikes. The original is one of my favorite songs of all time and this cover is… not good. Definitely glad for the charitable contributions, though. I can't believe it's almost been a year.
Same, and also because Melvil Poupaud is a dreamboat.
I saw Hannibal mentioned before I started reading the article and almost had a heart attack. Don't scare me like that, Todd! The comments section for the Hannibal reviews is one of my favorite things on the AV Club.
Ooh, that would be very interesting. I could see Walton doing amazing work in that role.
Margot will definitely be on the show. They've already cast Katharine Isabelle in the role.
Oh man, this news makes me so happy. I loved him on Boardwalk and Hannibal is my current favorite show, so this is perfect.
I'm outing myself as a fan of that movie (it's kinda sexy and the two leads have great chemistry, okay!) but he actually played Romola Garai's father. January Jones played Romola's snobby, racist schoolmate.
That did happen in a later (season 9?) episode, but it was actually the child's mother who was going to force her to live as a boy.
