""[Blizzard excuse-making nonsense]"
"I want to see anyone with a serious face trying to defend this."
Oh yeah, you shouldn't get a PS3 just to play this . . . you should get a PS3 to also play Flower, Journey, the LittleBigPlanets, the Uncharteds, the Infamouses, and even tack on PlayStation Plus' Super Mondo Game Collection of Fun-Fun. lol
This was DEFINITELY one of the more interesting games showcased at E3. I'd have preferred to see this at the Sony presser instead of 20 minutes of Wonderbook.
So, in other words, "It's Blizzard, so it's okay."
That's what I'm curious about, was the 3M a number Chafee pulled out of his ass... or was it a number Schilling pulled out of his, way back when the loan was brokered?
"Now, commenting publicly about the financial state of 38 Studios in general? That genuinely seemed like Chafee's obligation as governor at first, to let the tax-payers under his purview know that something was up. But his commentary should have been limited to the project that's ACTUALLY his responsibility, being…
No, they didn't have a stake in it beyond their *general* involvement with 38 Studios. If they invested in a building a branch of Microsoft dedicated to build phone apps and it crashed and burned, would that somehow mean the Xbox 360 is a failure? No.
Heh, I've recently picked up Skyrim again since setting it down when things got laggy (I'm on the PS3 version and had only gotten to about Level 15). I picked up Reckoning at launch and it's virtually the only "big" game I've played until last week.
Just a point of clarification for my fellow commenters: Other than owning the entire Amalur IP soon (due to ALL 38 Studios' IP being put up as collateral), prior to this debacle, RI had zero stake in Reckoning.
Salaries, yes, other overhead . . . not so much.
"Is this how they paid for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning?
"I'm sure a fair amount of that work went into making Kingdoms of Amalur, which as you probably know was going to be an MMO, but they made it into a single player game instead."
Um, they're hemorrhaging money BECAUSE they've been building an MMO. They've been working on it since 2006, specifically in Rhode Island since 2010. What are they supposed to do at this point... not finish it?
The already did have a sale awhile back where it was $39.99 and the DLC was discounted: [store.steampowered.com]
In his defense, I bought rechargeable batteries in ye olden times of 2007 for my Wiimote, and in the last few months they've started to stop holding a charge. Granted, my Wii sat virtually untouched for nearly two years until Skyward Sword came out, so lack of using the batteries may be part of it. lol
1) You... you actually threw in the costs of a TV, couch, and sound system to make your numbers work? Really? I mean, really? Sorry, but that's ridiculous. I could just as easily pull the numbers out of my ass and mandate that one gets an LED touchscreen monitor, 7.1 sound system, and a fancy executive leather chair.
Nope. It's a Nintendo game so the most that would ever happen is if the WiiU fails, and they go the way of SEGA, they might start pimping out their games and franchises on the next gen consoles. So, if literally everything goes wrong, you might see it on the PS4, but seeing it on PS3 is all but impossible.
Regarding the evolution of the Final Fantasy series, there are installments I like better than other installments, but of the ones I've played, I've liked them ALL in general. That INCLUDES XIII for reasons that are my own.
