I never understood why the C4’s headlights couldn’t just pop up like on my Ford Probe. The car looks incredibly cool to this day, I'm just curious as to the design rationale behind the back flipping

This is the future I was promised growing up.. And we have been lied to, and never got this future. I miss the period when designs like this were really innovative and cars did not look ‘angry’ or like toy tie ins from a Michael Bay flick
I’m currently replacing the suspension and brakes in this same model year beetle. I’ll let you know if I come across any secret boxes with wires connected under there
Next time try. Duct taping some openings for better aerodynamics and remove the rear seat to save weight :)
As long as the rest of us stay home why Al Gore gets to jet around and tell us how to live our lives? No way..
I think the regulations are headed to a point where governments and agencies do not want us to drive. Even electric cars cause carbon and other emissions because of the power plants used to recharge them. This is environmental hysteria at its best
I agree! Ford should be fined and banned from selling the Transit Connect because they purposely and openly violate the Chicken Tax
My point exactly! Bring in Skodas to the rescue. Introduce Americans to the VAG Czech brand which actually outsells VW and makes cars with features and for less money that VW cars don’t even have!
Bring in the Skoda line to the rescue!
So we can finally get Skoda instead? If so, sign me up for an Octavia any time!
Did you try Ever clear?
I beg to differ, my 89 Ford Probe GT was run on a dysk for its non obd emissions test. Facility on the corner of Harlem and Irving Park Rd
The EPA must be desperate to save face and have the country turn to a new villain to prosecute, after their own massive FAIL involvng the Colorado River. The agency itself should have been massively fined, if not disbanded for that
Mandatory testing? What if car owners revolt en mass and declare they won’t turn their vehicles in to be tested or ‘fixed’ by the EPA?
Is it technically cheating though? It passed the test. Even for regular cars they tell you to turn off the AC, not have you leave it on the way it would be in real world driving. What about adding ever clear to clean up your emissions for the test? :)
Are those giant vents supposed to cool the front brake rotors?
If it was just a narrow band of LED’s the look would have worked. But those giant inverted triangles are a totally different design language and don’t mesh here, the same way tho hood of a Bugatti Veryon looks like it came off another car
This is the drive train I have been preaching about for 25 years. This is electric done right. This is how electric should have been all along: rechargeable in a few minutes, and won’t overwhelm the electric grid. I even like the interior. But the exterior? Who is Toyota kidding trying to make this look like a cross…
Omg: a parody of a parody of a car
Rich people don’t I’ve delays and red tape. With enough cash, you are right, that can be overcome. The Russian and middle eastern oligarchs who rule London these days sound exactly like the kinds of people with the resources, motivation, and drive to pull this off
