M should stand for mediocre then. I think it's time for a new car company. one that will produce a 2-door couple with TWO doors,  a sedan, and a wagon with an engine in the front, real wheel drive with AWD as a customer option, and connected together with a manual transmission. you know, just how BMW used to do, 15-30

How did you.. Manage that? A friend who works at a junk yard picked one up for free from a couple. It was absolutely pristine except for a messed up transmission, but he still managed to drive it home

This is my favorite period and styling of Audi. What I consider one of their golden periods. I has a beautiful, stately presence, wagon or sedan. I'd gladly take the chance

Damn.. That looks so clean and smooth!

A timeless answer! There is nothing that the NA and NB cannot do today that would make them inferior to the latest generation

The late 1980s Chevrolet Sprint and early 90s Geo Metro. With fuel economies ranging around 54 mpg it continues to blow away most diesels and hybrids and does so with a much simpler, easier to service drive train and the right to shift your own gears

Love the camaro digital dash option

Toyota area seats of this era were also incredible. But I agree. These seats are a masterpiece

Now this is the dog’s nuts of big beautiful full size American land yacht

I want those Oldsmobile deluxe leather front sears. They look absolutely glorious

Mind reader! I saw a late 90s Grand Cherokee today and it always makes me think of this glass breaking grand entrance the Chrysler execs did for its unveiling

Did someone say Ford Probe??? 1st gen owner here :)

I have a similar problem. I too feel the 80s and 90s were the heyday of auto styling and I can’t tell the difference between a 2008 and 2016 plasticmobile. Our family fleet consists of a 1989 Ford Probe GT (178000 miles), a 1986 Toyota MR2 (106000 miles), a 2000 BMW 528I (108000 miles), a 2000 VW Beetle (109400

They may have gotten more. Complicated, with more gadgets, more sensors, more Wires, but not more robust or reliable.

I miss the 1980s terribly. The way things looked, the music, the fashion, the cars. You offer a few excellent examples. Let me offer one more:

Those seats! They’re gorgeous! That’s another thing I miss from this period

No fold-down armrests? Come on!

You read my mind! That’s exactly what I thought this literally chopped SC now looks like

The late 1980s is ergonomic and styling perfection to me. How I miss those days.. How I wish car interiors looked like this.. How I want to get one of these and keep it alive...
