I wish I could ‘star’ your post more than once.

Someone should mention this apparent sleeveless ban in serious business environments to Roger Ailes. Oh wait, I forgot...he runs Fox News, not a serious business environment.

You do realize that the people who wear cargo shorts and sports jerseys to church are now in attendence at the Republican National Convention, where they just put Trump over the top, right? While wearing everything from surf shirts to cheese hats?

oh, now I have to have some for supper tonight!

I can’t stand the noise made by buckwheat hull pillows. It’s like having a bowl of Rice Krispies in my ear all night long.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Whew, thanks - I needed a laugh this morning.

It was the 104th Congress in 1996, when the Republicans controlled both the House and the Senate. Naturally.

My husband and I live in NC, the southern Piedmont region (Charlotte area), and he has always worn a white v-neck undershirt except with golf shirts. He swears he stays cooler that way, and I can verify his button-downs don’t have rings.

I’ve done it both ways, and for me personally the burrito method is just so much easier, even with a king-sized comforter/duvet, and even on my own (usually husband is home to help but is sometimes on work trips, like today).

Sorry to be late in replying (it probably doesn’t even matter now), but what I meant by “builder grade” was that sort of item purchased in lots by home contractors: servicable, nothing fancy. The master bath and my parents’ bath got ‘nicer’ quality fixtures - the piping, the plumbing work was all top-notch, however.

This popped up in my Life Hacker feed today, no idea why. But when I checked out both the Mac app and the iOS app, I discovered the prices had risen obnoxiously: The Mac version of Day One 2 is now $19.99, while the iOS version is $4.99. Wowsers.

We have USAA, and our insurance has remained relatively stable for many years now, especially since it’s just my husband and me on the policy. Every time I get another garbage phone call wanting me to change carriers, all I have to do is say USAA and they hang up on me. We have our home insurance with USAA as well,

Your annuity is part of your estate assets. You don’t lose it if you die, you can will it where you like. Well, in North Carolina you can.

I can’t speak for other states, but that’s not the case in North Carolina. This isn’t a pension plan, it’s a purchased annuity. The state buys you a 30-year payment plan which is an asset of your estate.

Interesting how one common aspect from the links you post above seems to be “Wal-mart” — not surprising, but interesting.

This is how I fix what my family calls One Pot Pasta, which basically makes its own sauce while it cooks. It’s very popular around here. :)

Another good thing to pay more for quality is what you put in your bathroom: towels. Nice, thirsty, thick, plush towels are well-worth the extra expense, both from an economic standpoint (more upfront, less in the long run because they last so much longer) and from a comfort standpoint. I can’t think of much worse

We reno’d a 30-year old house in 2012, including a mother-in-law suite in the finished walk-out basement for my parents. We ‘splurged’ on good quality kitchen faucets upstairs and downstairs, and on bathroom faucets for the master bath and the downstairs bath. The guest bath and powder room upstairs got builder-grade

Well, my personal favorite (and that of my husband, my father, my daughter and my grandson - they liked mine, and either bought their own or asked for it as a present) is the ‘bean bag’ style which requires neither suction, adhesive, nor giving up an air vent.

When we reno’d our 1982 ranch, first the upper living area for my husband and me, then the lower living area for my aged parents (80+ years old), I went through 3 different contractors who tried to convince me that pulling permits would only signal the county to raise my property taxes and didn’t really mean anything
