That being said, this lie was a stupid, unforced Hillary-esque error on Harris’s part that has me scared for 2020.

I’m assuming you mean, like, the 70s, but I’m just imagining a rollerskating disco mutant rejecting a proposal from Mr Collins.

And who’s this newfangled Willie Nelson character? I mean, what’s he all about, huh?

Why would it be sarcastic? It’s not saying you should be on meds you don’t need, but a lot of people are on antidepressants, some short-term, to get through a particularly tough time, some for longer term mental health issues. And people shouldn’t feel ashamed or stigmatized or like there’s something wrong with them

Part of the charm of the original Frisco is the buttery toasty bread. The prime misses that.

I feel like the lack of any big twist for the big bad, like having him secretly having been Red-Skull or Strucker or Zemo, made it more of a gut punch. It was unsettling that a smart, talented, and by Fury’s reckoning good, person can buy in to the Hydra philosophy.

Probably right to Guardians, but Winter Soldier is still, for my money, the best Avengers movie, at least until Thor: Ragnarok . Lots of good reasons, but probably because it is the first one to actually be an action movie. So much of the action is based on actual stunt work rather than CGI fight scenes, that it makes

I still can’t believe that Sony put all their chips on “What was REALLY going on with Peter Parker’s parents?!?” People like to gripe about the MCU Spidey being so closely connected to Iron Man, but that shit about Peter being genetically modified or whatever? Get the hell out of here with that “chosen one” bullshit.

Between his really off-putting TMNT designs and his “wads of aluminum foil rolling down the stairs” look for the Transformers, I’m thinking Michael Bay doesn’t have the strongest handle on what makes for good character design.

Clayne Crawford looks exactly like the physical manifestation of the name “Clayne Crawford”.

Avengers IW had, a god stabbed with a spear, Tony Stark stabbed with a sword.

What I’m trying to get across is both Marvel and DC already let Kevin Smith play with their characters- major ones too. His comics career ended with *having Batman piss himself* and he hasn’t done anything since.

The Masked Engineer is great because of how often The Boys break character and seem genuinely enthralled by the insanity and stupidity of the concept and how far the engineers take it. I mean, hell, you hear Sean’s actual laugh in this episode quite a few times! That’s quite a feat! And the big reveal is on YouTube

I ... have accepted that other people like it. I’m not the one saying “One day it will click for you” and calling other people “child” like I’m some kind of sage who’s ascended to a higher level because I think Man of Steel is cool. Here’s a tip for you: assuming anyone who disagrees with you just doesn’t “get it” is

I really hate when people condescendingly state, “You juts haven’t gotten it yet, dude. One day you’ll see how great it is.” Tom doesn’t like the movie. I don’t like the movie. Plenty of other people don’t either. We have our reasons. You like Man of Steel? Great. Maybe just accept that other people don’t and it’s not

For comparison’s sake, to set up the similar death of Ra’s Al Ghul in Batman Begins, Nolan gives us at least two scenes where Bruce rejects killing for vengeance (the scene where Rachel slaps him for bringing a gun to the courthouse; the scene where he refuses to execute the villager), plus multiple scenes that build

By far the stupidest thing about this movie — which has its fair share of stupid things — is Pa Kent’s bullshit self-sacrifice.

But because DC characters have historically represented singularly powerful individuals who are not beholden to the failures of normal humans (and Marvel characters historically being the inverse of that), good writers of DC characters have typically posed the impossible dilemmas with an equally impossible solution.

My problem with killing Zod was that the movie didnt earn it. If through the fight Clark had tried other tactics, tried to steer the battle away from the city, if he was coming to the conclusion that this “sancticty of life” thing was slowly losing him the battle, if it had come down to This Is My Only Choice, and

There definitely needed to be a scene where Clark says he’ll never take a life again, or at least acknowledges that he killed the only survivors of his race and now he’s truly alone. It actually would have worked really well in his conversation with the general, instead of jokes about crashing satellites.
