Again, though, you seem to be glossing over the actual criteria of the ban, which includes public spaces. Even if I concede your point about people moving to a new area and getting their children settled in school, what about the residents currently living there when the ban was enacted? So you kick those kids out of

I agree with all of your points, except that you’re missing that this was a ban on “public spaces.” It wasn’t only about a requirement for school.

I’ve only known the term for a few years, since I started reading Gawker sites regularly. Before that, I didn’t follow pop culture stuff enough to have heard it. I didn’t know the origins/oranges until it was explained elsewhere in these comments.

Sorry, but he’s Canadian and neither of his parents are US citizens. He is pretty cool, though.

Not a burner. I found it boring and had to come back to it about three times. I just started not caring about any of these people or their dispute. I felt the article needed something more, a sharper hook. One comment elsewhere suggested this could have tied into the Tattoo #MeToo piece that Anna did last year,”

I get the oft-stated reason that they just want a “safe” space, away from harassing straight men, but in doing so, some of them, especially those with poor behavior, are taking

Still waiting for the biopic starring Jesse L. Martin. At least IMDb has it in post-production now. And S. Epatha Merkerson is playing his mother! Eeee can’t wait!

That cookie intro was next level; I love it!

I get in there and there are no urinals, obviously, just fairly large stalls, and I’ve often wondered, “What if there were a woman next to me? Would they care? Would I?”

I’m sad this one wasn’t featured here. I love this thing.

The header pic is an inflatable mattress. I know because I used to sleep on one that looked exactly like it. I did have to trash it because it developed a leak (it lasted for years; I definitely got my money’s worth). In addition, those are typically made of PVC and not accepted by many recycle facilities.

... and whether they’ve reflected on how their own moderation tactics played into the subreddit’s culture.

YES!! So nice to see it being appreciated.

Same. Lenny and Ed were my fav pairing of the detectives in the series.
