Point is it is never okay or justified to cross the double yellow, never

A state makes decisions in the aggregate and not individual situations. So it may not have been safe for a 4cyl Camry to pass a car going the speed limit there due to limited visibility around the SUV and inadequate power, thus the double line is drawn.

You are taking the stance that the law is always right. It isn’t. Safe and illegal are not mutually exclusive.

False equivalence was everywhere in those comments. My takes: The pass was safe, riding without a license is dumb, riding without gear is dumb, the car driver attempted to murder two people without remorse.

403k until the battery has weakened to the point where a full charge only holds 80% of the energy it did when it was new.

Even if you are speaking only mechanically you are being hyperbolic. But you are flat out ignoring the complex electrical engineering involved in creating an electric motorcycle and battery.

Holds my 14 inch laptop, lunch, and clothes.

I use a Kriega US-20 tail bag to take my lunch, clothes, etc to work everyday and the quality is great. I’m curious about why you like a messenger bag over a tail bag. The tail bag comes with a shoulder strap for when you get off the bike. While your on the bike there is no weight on your back.

Go for the kevlar jeans. You don’t feel awkward wearing them around the office or town. Also, if the lack of protection is on your mind while riding, that is making your rides less enjoyable. Finding a good pair is tough though, good luck.

YMMV, my commute sees traffic flowing at 85 on a regular basis. I would feel uncomfortable on a 250.

I wouldn’t say never. If a person is primarily buying a bike to commute on a highway 30 minutes a day, I’d say a 250 is not enough bike for the job. Sure it can do it, but having the ability to get to merging speed quickly and pass peoples blind spot quickly is a major part of the task. And who wants to hear a bike

Have you settled on a sale method? I just checked Autotrader, eBay, and Craigslist without seeing your car. For me, the article about the sale might be the most anticipated article since you explained the import process.

Having worked in dealerships before I am floored that CarMax continues to show that they hire competent people.

You should try reading. It should help you from making stupid comments that are disproved in the article you are commenting on.

Forced induction on a motorcycle makes me smile something fierce.

Not an expert, but my Parmesan wedges last months by putting them in a Ziploc bag and removing as much air as possible before sealing.

Because obviously nobody ever modified their car before 2001. Modifying cars has been around since cars have been around.

Yup. The only thing I can think of for the R1 now as a tweener is if you were intent on boosting the engine. Then the titanium con rods would really help out reliability.

The best part of the R1 is that it gives me great hope for a finally revised FZ-1. I like power, but not as much as sitting upright on my way to work. Triple bonus points if they merge it into a naked style bike to make a super FZ09 style mega weapon.
