Interesting, some Ford GTs are up. Some cars just haven’t gone down, which is great relative to the normal curve. Look at the Chevrolet SSR, good examples with a stick and a V8 are sitting right at their MSRP in 2005. You’re right though, I can’t think of many 2005 cars that have gone over MSRP. Granted, cars in 2005…
Same. I don’t believe this is being done out of good will. Maybe this is a pilot and the next iteration will be that they put these in front of bars/restaurants and if they blow too high the restaurant pays a flat fee to Uber them home. The bars will sell more drinks if people don’t have to drive home so it might work…
Cars currently on sale new? I’ll nominate the Chevy SS. Low sales numbers, big engine with huge aftermarket support, RWD, sedan, available in Jungle Green with a stick!
Is that 4 pipes in the exhaust header on the near side of the engine? Makes it look like a V8 to me.
At the two dealerships I worked in it’s more for liability. Say you boot out the salesman and steal the car. Or, you wrap the car around a pole and scramble off into the wilderness. They at least have a copy of your information to give to the police.
Lots of us have worked in sales. Because of that we realize that people don’t want to buy your product when you treat them like children. Test drives are generally less than 20 miles. If it takes you 30 potential customers to sell a Golf R (using your 600 mile example), then you suck at selling cars. Give a test…
Dealer pretentiousness is ridiculous. The same one that hires an 18 year old minimum wage to drive around $100k cars will have signs saying “Do not touch, ask for assistance” on cars in the lobby. Its ridiculous.
Baja Bug - $2,250
Baja Bug - $3,000
You got it bud! Obviously Dubai paid a Jalopnik writer to go across the world and write a press release for thier nation. It really is the only way to reach Dubai’s target market!
Of course right now the Volt is $34,170 not $40,950 and comes with a $7500 federal rebate giving it an effective cost of $26,670. That changes your argument from $14000 to $365.
You have to consider that at least $7500 of that depreciation is lost in the federal rebate. It’s not like used buyers are going to compare the used price to the new price before rebates. They will see that 35 - 7.5 is the actual cost of a new one. So depreciation really starts from that point. The buyers who buy a…
Step 1: Buy this car
I understand that to a point. But if you take that to it's end then never getting any data would be the best model for CarFax. All the records are clean and all the dealers are happy to keep buying the reports! As a consumer, when you are paying for a CarFax report you are paying for their investigation into the car.…
Does this mean that you are now planning to keep the skyline for more than the three months you initially planned?
Just.... Wow!
Best money I ever spent was on a third part warranty for my '05 RX8. I maxed out that warranty, including a new engine (which was bad, and replaced), starter, parking brake, A/C compressor, A/C control unit, etc... As soon as the warranty was maxed out I sold it to another sucker.
Is the wi-fi as good as it is in a $16,000 Chevy?
Is there enough room to live in it? That’s the only way most of us can afford it.
