No, in the 240 they still directed the engine under the car in a collision. That’s why the engine mount are a wear item and I have to replace mine every 2 years haha

As always, the right answer is Volvo. Buy an old 240 for $1000, with the rear facing seats it can seat 7, with the seats down will fit full sheets of plywood back there, has a towing capacity of 3500 pounds and gets in the mid 20s on the highway!
