Pickups are great and in my fantasy 10 car garage, I would have one. But for an intro car, I wouldn't get a teenager one. And as for moving yourself, a regular car works. A pickup is a great utility vehicle and renting one is easy. As a daily driver, it's over kill for a teen.
Depends on the situation. I know plenty of people who moved themselves, including me. Plus, after that first year you move out of the dorms and then friends do help.

I had smart things for a few weeks. Their app crashed a lot. Granted this was over a year ago, but it was annoying to see it crash so often. However, I love their sensors.

That’s been my contention with Android for years. I’ve seen some amazing UIs that made me drool. I’ve seen people mod the hell out of their phone and get amazing results. And I could do as they did and make everything’s as personable as possible.
