The kiss wasn’t the most groundbreaking thing about Star Trek (and it was shitty kiss because looks like Shattner is trying to eat her...), it was that Uhura, a black woman, was a respected officer and a member of the crew at all. If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend the NPR interview Nichols gave:
I think when they say ‘play with block toys’ they’re talking about Lego type toys. I remember reading that Lego definitely had a girl problem:
I did. He actually said he wants a Palestinian state to exist in the location where Israel currently exists. Naturally Israel isn’t too thrilled about the prospect.
Simply put, there are only two men in that room who would have someone murdered and cut up with a bone saw.
“Just a few bad apples...”
That’s not what’s happening. The resolution isn’t a law. It’s basically a vote do decide whether they want to send a letter to fast food companies making this non-binding recommendation.
I got curious so I read that paper. In end their conclusion goes something like this:
I agree Palestinians shouldn’t be living under Israeli jurisdiction. that’s why the only solution is a 2 states solution. The idea of 1 state where Jews and Arabs live together happily is idiotic nonsense spouted off by 3 year olds who’ve never read a history book. IT WILL NOT HAPPEN. IT HAS NEVER HAPPENED IN HUMAN…
I didn’t realize a world map was racist. Learn something new every day...
As far as I know Arab-Israeli citizens have the exact same rights as Jewish Israeli citizens. In fact a significant percentage of the Knesset is Arab is it not?
It’s not a joke. That phrase is synonymous with ‘death to Israel.’ The only people who say it want Israel gone (and that usually includes the Jewish population living there).
That phrase ‘from the river to sea’ is not an accident. It’s a call to eliminate Israel that’s been used by PLO and Hamas for the last 60 years. No one else uses it except people trying to get rid of Israel.
The numbers vary greatly depending on who you ask. I was basing my numbers on UN figures of 4.43 million Palestinians vs 6.6 million Israeli Jews. That includes Palestinians living in settlements as well as those living Jordan, Syria and the Sinai, but not Arab Israeli citizens who already have full rights of…
Though even if that were not the case, the question is whether Palestinians have any say in the government that rules over them.
Actually, I think that’s the closest I’ve seen Salty answer ‘no’ to a ‘should I tip question’
That’s not what he said. He said a Palestinian state where Palestinians have self-determination. From the Mediterranean Sea to the Jordan river.
I agree that very often anti-antisemitism gets called out in bad faith when discussing Israel, and I don’t know if Mr. Hill had that intention here. But the ‘river’ in ‘from the river to the sea’ is the Jordan river. In order to create that Palestinian country, Israel would have to be destroyed in its entirety. So in…
