It was entertaining, not steller by any means, I’ll deff check out season 2, but the re-watch value for me is 0.

I’m not the first to discuss this, but 24 minute Simpsons episodes really forced them to zero in on the more important story points and the funnier jokes. The extra 6 minutes didn’t do anything for them. There were a LOT of panning shots and spaces between dialogue which would have been swept aside on Network TV.
The biggest difference for me was the comparative dearth of jokes--what funny bits there are are spread widely apart, with the plot attempting, and failing fairly regularly, to keep the energy up.
Eh, we don’t know if they are competent. We know it’s a diverse group, and we know the showrunner is expressing confidence that that diversity is going to make the show stronger. Based on this the headline is appropriate and nowhere near opinionated as others we’ve seen.
I honestly doubt Doctor Who will go towards more hardcore sci-fi (“it is a children’s show” is apparently the crew mantra) but yeah, that whimsy can be toned down a bit.
Good. It will anger the so-called “hardcore fans” who are already against having a female Doctor - while hewing closer to the genesis of the endeavor itself, having been initially produced by a woman and directed by a gay foreigner, both of which ruffled feathers in 60s BBC world.
Ah, the glory that is angry fortysomething dudes on Twitter complaining about a revamp of a character designed for preadolescent girls in the ‘80s.
They just didn’t make her look like Valkyrie Barbie this time around.
I deleted my tumblr feed when it filled up with a distracting amount of filth. A03 actually passed me by. I went mostly offline for a few years and when I came back I had forgotten my fanfiction habit. ffdotnet was in its infancy when I first visited it.

I would genuinely prefer Giles and Dawn over Xander and Dawn.
Of all the couplings that could have ended with “...had a baby,” Dawn and Xander isn’t really all that high on the “gross” list.
For example, any of the following would have been worse:
Giles and Dawn
Buffy and Andrew
Willow and Clem...
Ideas for art projects:
First of all - the relevant space agencies involved shouldn’t allow this. It seems pretty obvious that only a scientific instrument designed by and/or for scientists at scientific agencies is all that should go up there.
Considering it would be in frame of a telescope capable of seeing such an asteroid for fractions of a second, I think we’ll be ok
If you roll the same number three times in a row you automatically get eaten by a sand worm because you walked with a rhythm.
I am reading Dune for the first time actually (its one of my biggest gaps in nerd knowledge) and I devoured what I call the Paul Trilogy (Dune, Dune Messiah, and Children of Dune) then got through God Emperor of Dune easy enough. But damn Heretics of Dune is just tough going... I switched it up for Brandon Sanderson’s…
heh I’ll get flack for this, but I actually kind of like some of the Brian stuff. I consider it an alternate universe of course, and it’s nowhere near as good as his dad’s work. I could see it working for a tabletop RPG, though maybe they should label any book taken from his stuff as “Dune Legends” or something.
“the full scope” of the Dune franchise, including the original book series from creator Frank Herbert, as well as son Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson’s continuation of the franchise
