Isn’t Green Arrow’s beard more of a Van Dyke than a Goatee?

For anyone interested, I’ve found a couple of good articles on Ruby Rose leaving Twitter.

And I’ve seen attacks by the writers on this site against actors choosing acting roles because they didn’t agree with the actor’s choice of role.

If only there was something Twitter could do about this, some sort of... I don’t know... a set of rules, perhaps? Code of conduct? I mean, that’d be great if the people who ran the service had the authority over people’s behaviors on the service.

Nope, lack of accountability for civilians was. Too much of this is enabled by the relative anonymity and pandering to potential customers.

So every person that plays a lesbian on TV or in a movie have to actually be a lesbian? Ruby Rose is a actress. Lesbian or not a actor’s job is to pretend to be someone else.

What’s worse is that appearance has been proven, over and over and over, to be one of the worst measurements of whether or not a characterization ends up working. One wonders why it would still be used as a basis of harassment, except that harassment is its own end: they’re doing it just to make people’s lives crappy.

Saddest thing? this doesn’t even come from fans of these shows. The CW has race-changed, gender-swapped and included all kinds of gays, lesbians and minorities in their shows; Supergirl is one season away from an native-american, paraplegic, non-binary Booster Gold.

The Internet was a mistake.

There is a big difference between writing an article that says, “This studio should try to cast actors representative of the part” and personally screaming in all caps at the actor, “YOU SHOULD QUIT ACTING YOU TALENTLESS WHORE”.

Wait wait wait.....she’s an open lesbian, but she’s not lesbian enough?

Some people just seem to try to find something- anything- to get pissy about. I can see objecting to Ruby Rose’s casting as Batwoman on ground of acting skill... but saying that someone who is genetically female, who has only ever dated women isn’t actually a lesbian because she identifies as genderfluid (but goes by s

#}#%! Someone needs to take those assholes’ internet privileges away.

All the noise at replacing Craig is just that .

So every time I see a live action adaptation of an animated series that was highly successful I wonder the same thing. Why? Do live action versions do that much better at the box office? I feel like they could do a fantastic feature length animated movie, and if they used a good advertising firm to get the word out do

Just finished Book two of The Last Airbender as the original series popped up on Netflix a few weeks ago and I forgot how well this series set everything up. Azula who doesn’t show up until the last frame of Book One was teased in the ending the entire book. Zuko being a conflicted antagonist was an entire series long

I would’ve been happy if they’d just acknowledged that the costume is supposed to be red, and not burgundy or maroon...

You know what? Screw it. Scrap it. Find a new and more interesting Star Trek story that has the money going to the production and effects and not the actors.

If they have to and can’t come up with original material, why not reboot TNG instead. The JJ trek is more of a homage exercise without substance anyway.

Have they learned nothing from the Saavik debacle?
