I wanted to chime in and thank you for writing this. Fanfiction takes a lot of slag, and fan culture is FAR from perfect, but this is another example of “chatbots” exploiting the work of artists. This article really made me think.

Weirdly, it sounds like you’d like Andromeda best: open-world, crafting, exploration and map discovery, but with a lot of story and romance/RPG options.

Ry’ac! Come here, boy!

Well, act-u-ally....

Too true! Funnily enough, I thought the same but of Archer Vice - some great moments, but wrapped in boring. “Your mileage may vary.” Might have to watch that season again.

Really? Huh, that was my favorite season of Archer since...season two, I think. It actually felt meaningful (as in the story had meaning to the characters) and like a real adventure.

I think the problem isn’t that it’s dark, the problem is that it’s not very funny. (As always your mileage may vary, but the scene wasn’t exactly played as if it was comedic.)

Good luck and stay strong. GMG might not be perfect, but a far too many armchair media experts here in the comments seem to have missed the point. We need more voices like yours. Thanks for all the hard work, even for the occasional compromises that we all have to live with if we want to keep our jobs and work within

I think it could work. You’re forgetting the emotional intensity and most of the drama of the plot will be “What’s going to happen to Duke Leto?” He’s a huge presence in the first third of Dune with his own P.O.V. chapters. His death and Paul’s escape are a big turning point for the book and could easily by the finale

Starred for Linkara!

When did James-Bloody-Bond become so gray and dull? They really need to stop aiming for grim and gritty. I enjoyed Cragi’s take on the character in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, but this is just...tired. He’s just spinning his wheels now, as are the producers apparently. Take a leaf from Mission: Impossible and

Thank you. I loved Mass Effect and Dragon Age, just for example, but as the games got “bigger,” they became boring and dull. There was no point to anything. Why would the Inquisitor be doing any of this bullshit?

I bailed on this show when they dropped Lisa Kudrow. She should have run against Fitz for president, giving him a legitimate challenger and helping us realize that Fitz is a TERRIBLE PRESIDENT. Seriously, how has he not been stuck in congressional investigations for years?

Sounds cool! Quick question...is it actually possible to find a still from NuTrek that is on a flat plane? Or are they ALL awful Dutch angles?

This is classic late 2010s TV right here: no one behaves like a professional or a reasonable adult and everyone is an unlikeable dick in the name of “drama.” Not just DISCO, but so many other shows. It’s...a shame. Poor writing, for the most part.

Personal opinion as a former server and current drinker: if I’m flying solo I don’t ask for a pitcher. It makes me uncomfortable, and if you ask for a pitchr the server sometimes abandons your table (as going by to refill water is when you have an opportunity to ask for anything and/or ask if the customer has anything

Ah! Yes. Not good. I mean, we’ve never had a ‘free’ market, and anti-trust laws are hardly a permanent solution, but without proper regulation or genuine social change we get socialized corporatism that verges on fascism lite.

Huh. That one is a new idea for me. Honestly, how does decreasing industry concentration help robber barons? I thought monopolistic business practices were one of the tenets of unethical business dealings?

You know, this is NOT relevant at all...but do you know how many different TV and movies are filmed in Canada? Suits ain’t even set in Canada. It’s just filmed there.

Very true. But I hope activists, progressives, journalists, and legislators can find in current anti-trust laws the foundation upon which to create change. The more we remind people that this problem has been confronted (and ameliorated) before the easier it will be to do so again. Speak out and shift the needle just
