Zero to hero! Training montage, here we come.
Zero to hero! Training montage, here we come.
I’m assuming this is the same character that was in Chip Zdarsky’s delightful Jughead— yep, Jughead dated Sabrina Spellman for a very funny five minutes, and that’s her look.
And I ungreyed myself! KINJA!
Ha, still grey.
It (probably) works in the manga. It does not work on the screen.
... Holy! Am I...out of the greys? After all these ages? Insert a celebratory .gif here!
Yeah, that did not work. Nothing like comedians laughing too hard at their own jokes to ruin a bit. Probably sounded a lot better in the pitch meeting.
Definitely getting Warcraft vibes, you’re right! Sadly, I expect it to perform about as well at the box office.
It’s a Twitter joke, where people misconstrue the point of a tweet and aggressively “@handle” to tell the original poster why they’re wrong. I’ve heard the manga is good, but it won’t help me with the CGI in the movie.
I’ll provide a clarification - reading the manga, by all accounts a good manga, won’t solve the visual issues presented by the character in the film intended for mass market release for people who have never and will never read the manga.
You know, this could be fun, but I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE EYES. Post-apocalyptic art nouveau cyborg gladiatorial games? Sounds good. Those eyes? *Shudder*
This concept sounds more appealing. DISCO isn’t as terrible as it’s made out to be in some quarters, but it never gelled with me— occasionally great episodes and cast members lost in a sea of confusion. Fingers crossed for season two!
I liked Prime Georgiu, and Michelle Yeoh, for sure. Lorca never hit the right... I don’t know, he never felt right. Less pragmatic and more ‘I’m going to take shortcuts that will inevitably backfire on me’ (in this case because he was, well, mustache-twirlingly evil). If they had to do the Mirror Universe, at least…
She shouldn’t become Prime Georgiou, for sure— but she would have to change, at least temper her worse Mirror Universe impulses— to survive in the Main Universe. I want to see struggle and growth, and a lot of messing with Starfleet, for sure!
I’d be way more interested in this concept than season two of DISCO, to be honest. It would be different, and a great way to explore the idealistic Federation from another angle — without denigrating the Federation’s ideals — and showing how Mirror Georgiou changes and grows.... Cool!
Honestly, this could be amazing. I’ve always wanted another sci-fi show that commits to the parallel version of a character from another universe (here’s to you, Fringe!). The Mirror Universe is ripe with potential. They’d need to explore how and why her character was “evil,” while also getting some good mileage out…
Since when did “Let the past die, kill it if you have to” = “Respect the past and learn from it”? That’s...not the same thing. It’s the opposite thing.
Thank you. I don’t get this “hot take” on TLJ.
You’re very welcome - life goals: do not be a dick on the internet. Again, I apologize for dashing off a hasty response!
You know what, I’m sorry, I replied in haste. I don’t want to be petty or irritating on the Internet. My original reply still stands in terms of “what makes sense.” I agree with the OP’s points about the rise and fall of the New Republic. More broadly, I believe that the world of TFA is lazy and contrived as it had to…
