I think the problem isn’t that it’s dark, the problem is that it’s not very funny. (As always your mileage may vary, but the scene wasn’t exactly played as if it was comedic.)

We have a new candidate for father of the year! Endangering his wife and son by sending them incredibly dangerous alien technology in a cardboard box from Mexixo! Congratulations, you’ve put your family and friends in the crosshairs of a murderous government hit squad and an alien menace from beyond the stars! Great

I’m in the same boat, and the original was so interwoven with the main Star Wars title at the time it was just a blast. Also, I will never forgive a comic book company for “relaunching” the exact same title with a new number one in under a year. That cannot be rewarded. ;)

Good luck and stay strong. GMG might not be perfect, but a far too many armchair media experts here in the comments seem to have missed the point. We need more voices like yours. Thanks for all the hard work, even for the occasional compromises that we all have to live with if we want to keep our jobs and work within

I usually prefer paper - I just don’t enjoy digital comics in the same way - but digital is really useful for pulling older stories out of the back bins, so to speak.

Thanks!

Fascinating! I’ll admit I know next to nothing about the Legion except when a few crossovers with Supergirl. This sounds like it could have been (or was, I’m not sure!) really interesting. Genuine growth and change for the characters, albeit rocky due to company-wide continuity issues. Might try and pick up some LoSH

They wanted “stylized” and the set and costume designers decided “make it look fake.”

I WANT IT. TAKE MY MONEY! ....but I’m in Canada, so I’m probably screwed.

This sounds awesome! Can’t wait for all three.

I’m surprised “Truth” made the list. I’ll admit that Action Comics’ contribution had some amazing emotional scenes and the art started strong (and got very, very messy and rushed near the end of the crossover) but it suffered from bizarre, complicated plotting and a few really nasty moments for Superman, especially

This is the single most comic-bookey thing that the MCU has done, to date. “I know, let’s make our continuity even more convoluted and put in weird references to past characters for the fans!”

Feels like they bit off more than they could handle. DC’s (seemingly accidental) decision to split off the shows and movies into two distinct halves seems to have worked well. It gave the TV shows the creative space to flourish and find their own tone, then slowly introduce an interconnected roster of characters.

I don’t mind a little teaser for Bendis’ run (fingers crossed that it’s any good!) but can we please talk about “The Car,” “The Fifth Season” and “Of Tomorrow?” Or Damn, this was an amazing tribute to Superman!

I can’t...disagree, although I think, cut free from people’s expectations, the film is mediocre but not appalling. That said, it was so forgettable that maybe we can slip Elba into the TV series....? Ah, it won’t work. I just love Luther so much!

Wow, Amazon is just burning money! We live in weird times. I’d love a Dark Tower series (any word if Idris Elba is still on board? Give the man a chance! Luther was fantastic. But I’m more interested in The Wheel of Time. Well, the Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills.

No one was tipped off to the fact their founder was a little odd when he called it “the Space Kingdom?” It’s amazing how silly people can be.

Is anyone else really tired of “righteous rebels against Earth”? I see this all the time and it always bugs me.

Ha, genius! Is this Peak Harley, then, when she starts infiltrating Marvel? Wait, no. There is no such thing as Peak Harley. Harley Quinn will last thirty years into the post-apocalyptic wastelands of New Jersey.

Wow, I did not say that we should “freeze Joss Whedon out” of his own creation. I specifically said that he could consult, write, and participate in the process. That would definitely help any purely hypothetical reboot. I would be more interested in an announcement that someone else was taking point, but that’s not
