I always loved Pellaeon, but doesn’t the First Order (*bleugh*) and all the handwaving around the New Republic in the latest batch of books make this hard to do? I guess there’s thirty years where he can still be relevant... Sigh. I like some of the elements of the new movies, but, boy, the world-building is

YIKES. Brutal and acceptable. Continue.

Came here for this. MARA JADE.

Thank you. I loved Mass Effect and Dragon Age, just for example, but as the games got “bigger,” they became boring and dull. There was no point to anything. Why would the Inquisitor be doing any of this bullshit?

He did look good in leather pants. And leather coats. Man, that was such a good show.

Wow. The promotional picture for Atlantis just shows the vast gulf in design and styling between the launch of SG-1 and when Atlanstis started in Season 8.

It was an interesting twist. What was more interesting is that they all turned out to be passive dicks!

They brought Ben Browder and Claudia Black on board for Stargate, S9, I think! I’ll admit, I enjoyed the “Fargate” seasons.

Don’t worry! They brought back Ben Browder and Claudia Black for Stargate! I’ll admit, I enjoyed the “Fargate” era on Sci-Fi.

Just watched that episode. Brilliant writing, brilliant plotting, amazing delivery. Michael Shanks and Amanda Tapping nail that scene. Watching competent professionals solve problems with skill, dedication, and respect...mmm.

Look! It doesn’t even say colonel on my uniform!

Thank you. So true. SG:U and BSG inaugurated some of the worst trends in sci-fi that we’re only now undoing. (That and all the shitty Game of Thrones derivatives. Lord.)

It’s one of the most rewarding sci-fi (nay, television) franchises for this very reason. So much actual, lasting, changes to the characters and the world. Going from season 1, where they’re just commandos facing off against the overwhelming might of advanced aliens...to the last season, where they have spaceships, is

That makes me even more sad that they never made the last movie. Damn.

Having never seen the Highlander TV series, I can’t say if this is an apt comparison. I enjoyed the movie and adore the series, but I’ll admit that from our lofty peak in 2018 the first season (in particular) can seem a little dated both in budget and style. That said, if you stick around it’s one of the most

I’m on Season 4 again now with my wife! I used to watch it on infinite repeat on the Space channel, whereas my partner only saw sporadic episodes when she was younger. Now we’re watching it all in order on DVD!

THANK YOU. I’m so tired of “more mature” shows where the characters act and behave like unprofessional teenagers. Universe and new shows like Star Trek: Discovery suffer from this mistaken belief that drama means that cruelty, pettiness, and disrespect.

I think that SG-1 had an ideal mixture of drama and camp, especially for an episodic series from the 90s. When things got real, the show was poignant, powerful, even dark at times. Then you could move on to lighter episodes.

Agreed! Also, as far as I can tell she looks essentially the exact same age as X1, too.

I’d love a Shadowcat movie! Wait, was that a rhetorical question? No matter. Shadowcat! Does whatever a Shadowcat can! ;)
