I agree completely, but I will add that the new Teen Titans Go! has pretty terrible messaging for kids. Like, watch a few episodes. Some are...okay...and then some are basically “Do whatever you want! Be mean to your friends! Puking! LOL!”

A lot of Alita fans chiming in that the creepy eyes are fine, but I’ll let my original comment on the trailer stand. Alita is CREEPY. Sweet gawds, anime stylization does not work well in live action, and was never intended to do so, as far as I know. What a poor choice.
Have all of my stars for Nebezial.
Thank you.
Serious question. How is the New Republic “gone?” The First Order blew up, what, three planets and a fleet? Was that it? It wasn’t even Coruscant. Is the New Republic strained...or overburdened...or something? Is there a war on?
Not surprised this show was ultimately cancelled, if very disappointed. So glad it’s getting a proper finale! The world needs more Lito, Hernando, and Daniella! (Just my personal favorites, is all.)
I mean, they’re a classic to the people that watched them at the time? “Classic” might be a tad overused, but it also means those films that we still remember and talk about however many years later. So...Jumanji makes the cut?
Ah! Yes. Not good. I mean, we’ve never had a ‘free’ market, and anti-trust laws are hardly a permanent solution, but without proper regulation or genuine social change we get socialized corporatism that verges on fascism lite.
Huh. That one is a new idea for me. Honestly, how does decreasing industry concentration help robber barons? I thought monopolistic business practices were one of the tenets of unethical business dealings?
You know, this is NOT relevant at all...but do you know how many different TV and movies are filmed in Canada? Suits ain’t even set in Canada. It’s just filmed there.
Okay...I want to like it. Interesting enough trailer for what could be a cool movie. But...OH JESUS THAT UNCANNY ANIME-ROBOT CREEPY DOLL-CHILD FACE, AH!
Very true. But I hope activists, progressives, journalists, and legislators can find in current anti-trust laws the foundation upon which to create change. The more we remind people that this problem has been confronted (and ameliorated) before the easier it will be to do so again. Speak out and shift the needle just…
Nice work, team. Awesome thread.
Great idea! New fancanon established!
It’s simple. ANTI. TRUST. LAWS. Write your senators and representatives. If they current laws don’t work, make them stronger.
The real question is how anyone in existence could like Kylo Ren, a murderous, cowardly, derivative lunatic with anger management issues. Whoops, got a little angry there... (Rey, Finn, and Poe are much better than Jar Jar.)
Man, “U.S.S. Callister” is the perfect mix of modern and retro styling for Star Trek. It’s what “Discovery” should look like and what “The Orville” wants to look like. And it makes me sad.
All good special effects, to this day, should rely on this technique. The movies that don’t...well, its damn sad to watch CGI-heavy movies from the late 2000s now. Even movies two to three years old look terrible. I wish people would commit to practical effects or, at least, have some sense of scale or vision for…
Gawds, you’re right. Leia just makes Luke look so much shitty. Way to go, Jedi Master.
You know, this is my biggest problem with The Force Awakens. Disney and Abrams were so desperate to reset the board, they had to make the heroes of the original trilogy look like assholes and morons to make it work - Han, Luke, and Leia are complete failures in order for TFA to occur. Han most, though. Dick move, dude.
