That show was such a crime against the amazing source material that, today, is basically made for TV! One book per ten- and twelve-episode season, a (relatively) simple but compelling mystery to solve, magic that’s not too expensive especially in the early books... Now I’m sad.

Whenever I see a screenshot from this show all I can think is, “Look, it’s Mass Effect.” Seriously, DISCO uniforms are just copies of the Systems Alliance uniforms! Metallic gold and silver piping and shoulder straps, navy blue uniform, ‘futuristic’ fabric patterns. Seriously, try harder, guys.

Honestly, I’m glad you enjoy it, but that’s not fair. You can’t pull it out “it’s good it’s just not canon” just like critics can’t say “it’s bad because it’s not canon.”  It’s not about that. I don’t care if it’s canon or not, it’s just a mediocre and confusing sci-fi show with a lot of mismanaged expectations.

Look, if you don’t like the show that’s fine. But the reviewer has far more than fuzzy memories of other shows to guide her. There was nary a mention of TNG in this review, just a straightforward breakdown of plot holes, mischaracterization, and serialization issues. That’s a reviewers job, to be critical and provide

Not a problem!

I’ve read the first two issues, they’re fantastic. They feel very self-contained and feel like a continuation of Runaways Vol. 1, with little to do (yet) with later arcs. If you like the art in the preview, I’d recommend them. I suspect things might get screwey later, as they often do in comics, so you can always wait

I don’t know about you, but I’ve noticed the same thing as I exit my early twenties. I was rereading Deep Wizardry by Diane Duane (you might know So You Want to Be a Wizard) and I wanted to yell at the pages, “WHERE ARE THE RESPONSIBLE ADULTS.” Oi, I’m getting old.

Good idea! Basically anything but Batman v Superman.

I knew I liked those Guardians movies! Really, I seem to be in the minority of people that really enjoyed Batman v. Superman: Terrible Title for a Movie, a.k.a. Man of Steel II. I walked out of the theater with a big smile on my face, thrilled that I had seen something different and operatic. I enjoyed the Director’s

Nine times out of ten I find time travel is a poor excuse for bad plotting, but if we include a liberal interpretation of time ‘travel,’ Madeline L’Engle is perhaps my favorite. “Many Waters” is perhaps the most literal example, but all her books play with time in profound ways.

You know, I can really see this. His earnest, aw-shucks, dorkiness will work well for Billy Batson.

Congratulatons to Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner on a successful run. Hope the next creative team brings their own combination of zaniness, spirit, and adventure to the title.

So glad to hear this one’s good! One of my favorite comics and judging from the trailer (and your review) it stays true to the spirit of Runaways and looks slick.

Fascinating idea. Love to see the same stories adapted (well) a few times. It’s a little bit like Shakespeare; you know the story, but you want to see how they stage it differently and how different actors bring new life to the roles.

Hey, I’m stoked for this show and Runaways are probably one of my favorite comics, but DC fans are fine. (I like both. Crazy.) Sorry, but until The Gifted and Runaways get their legs under them, DC has a much more robust slate of TV. Supergirl, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow are awesome. And Arrow, if that’s your

Honestly, this looks amazing and I’m pumped. Time to watch Pacific Rim again.

I get the frustration, but those were very unobtrusive ads. Have you seen some other sites without an ad-blocker? Even that is beside the point. The site has to pay to host the content, deliver the content, write the content. They have staff and expenses. It’s either subscriptions, ads, donations, sponsored content,

Unless you want a subscription model, I dunno what we should expect, man.

Runaways was my very first comic book, collected in the (awful) kids-sized format on matte paper from a local bookstore. (I just bought the first volume of the collected edition. Mmm, glossy...) I can’t believe this amazing story made it to TV and looks...good! Hopefully great. I can’t believe how perfect the casting

I was hoping someone would comment on the terrible science. Just...wow. Star Trek has always played fast and loose with...common sense...but I had hoped (foolishly) that the reboot would have an opportunity for some consistent internal rules around the science and technology of the show. This was just so bad though,
