Other comments have covered it. She was a captive. At best it was creepy and made no sense. No one’s ‘in the mood’ in their prison cell.

You can like the movie (I assume) and also respect legitimate complaints, dude. Yeesh.
I enjoyed (but did not love) the movie overall, including the gore and violence. It was relatively stylized. I might have preferred less gore, but it wouldn’t have ruined the movie. Bad guys getting killed is par for the course in action movie. The creepy sex scene at the end, however, was not. It was non-consensual…
This sounds like why less people will watch Defenders. Like you, I watched a little of everything...Daredevil Season 1, Jessica Jones Season 1, limped through half of the second season of Daredevil, bailed on Luke Cage, and now I’m looking at Defenders going... ‘D’wu-huh?’ Netflix is just a bad place to try a…
Looks like it might be fun! Having never played the game I can’t comment on what they’re borrowing, but it looks like ‘Uncharted’ to this young fellow (in a good way) and I love Vikander. - Only problem, and it might just be the trailer lacks a little polish, is that every set piece looks incredibly fake. Tons of…
I came to the review to ask this question, basically. Does it have a bizarre, gross, and incredibly sexist and creepy twist at the end that ruins the whole movie? If not, I might see it.
Thank you, very thoughtful take and that would have been a much better comic.
THANK YOU. I hated how everyone blamed him for that steaming pile of horseshit.
Every piece of advertising for that show (that I’ve seen on Netflix) makes the stars look like really douchey musicians doing a pretentious press tour, and I hate them. *No disrespect to the the heroes, just the branding.
Hi Julie and welcome aboard! Without knowing too much about your workload and schedule, so you do what works best for you, I’d love more reviews of sci-fi and fantasy television shows! Maybe a weekend roundup of the week’s best, short little reviews? Wynona Earp, Dark Matter, The CW! It’s the Golden Age, let’s revel!
Just more sci-fi and fantasy TV reviews in general! I know there are bigger outlets that cover TV, but I love io9's editorial direction and community. Let’s see Dark Matter, Wynona Earp, Killjoys, Legends of Tomorrow...
O-rig-in-al... Strange... Who is this “Lilith” of which you speak?
All be honest, based on your review, this movie sounds fine. Maybe not ‘great’ but not bad either. You keep talking about how it’s “only” 90 minutes but that is more than enough time for a fantasy action movie. I thought we were all tired of 2.5 hour blockbusters with more padding? 2o minutes of setup? All we need.…
This show is amazing. I can’t believe they are so committed to having...fun! *gasp* I’m still catching up on Netflix and can’t wait for more seasons to drop.
I’m reading the Complete Collection right now and it’s particularly telling looking at Alphona and Miyazawa back-to-back. Alphona definitely improved as the series progressed, but Miyazawa brought such a fun, more lively energy to the characters.
Amusingly, I love Runaways (it was the first comic I ever collected) but I never loved the original look. I really enjoyed it when Takeshi Miyaza was on art, and I like the new look too.
I really agree with you about the big cast. IMHO, Season Two was stretched to cover so many different heroes. Take a breath and focus on the core group. They’re who we want to see grow and change, not another batch of characters. (I’m so worried they’re not showing Miss Martian!) I’m already worried with all the new…
Well I’m glad you enjoyed it! To each their own. I couldn’t handle the appalling plot holes, tired cliches, and terrible decision making for supposed secret agents and spy agencies. I’ll be glad when Craig’s tenure is done and we can move on from Bond’s “tragic backstory.”
Thank you. The most accurate and succinct response yet.
I’ll just add my voice to the chorus. “Heck no! Dear God, what did we do to deserve this?”
