Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but it seems like this study is saying that it's not volume of time spent with your kid, but the amount of attention you give your kid when you're with them that matters. So, it would seem that if you're out all day working, the best thing for your kid would be to sit down and play with

Is anyone else getting a Cersei Lannister vibe about Kim Kardashian and her fear of Kanye's bastards?

Unrelated: yes, please.

Me too. But the Clean Person here and on Gawker convinced me, and I gave it a try. I wish I could go back in time and unthrowaway so many things.

True story: My mother NEVER discussed periods with me. I had to learn about them from my older sister, with whom my mother never discussed them either.

I still remember my shock and disbelief when I was finally told about periods when I was 10. I couldn't believe that all these women were walking around pretending like THEIR VAGINAS WEREN'T FUCKING BLEEDING.

Oxiclean! Soak overnight in a bucket with hot water and a scoop or two of Oxiclean and problem solved. It even fixes old, wash/dried stains. It will change your life, like it did mine.

Good thinking. Thanks so much!

You're fighting the good fight, Madeleine. Never be sorry.

I'm the nerdiest Grammar Nerd out there, but even I can't understand what the "(sic)" was for in Miley's post. It's after "than," which makes me think you were trying to say she should've used "then." But that would've been incorrect. Miley, shocker, got it right for once.

Well, we are currently in a one bedroom apartment with a 14-month-old baby. So, we were hoping to get into a new place next year. But I guess there's always the year-end bonus and next year's tax return. Sigh.

Thanks for the advice. The loan is being gradually paid off already — approx. $900 a month is being taken out of my check. It's due to pay off in 2017 if I keep everything as it is. But I guess it all depends on what I'd pay for the mortgage interest rate? Like if I could get lower than 4.5%, it makes sense to pay off

Thanks for the link. It looks like I'm a little ahead, so I'll just use my refund for my down payment. Thanks, Kristin, for making my decision for me.

Last I checked, there was just over $200K in there. I'm 38. I have no idea if that's bad or good.

Mr. Notyourcheese says I should put it all into a savings acct because we're trying to save for a down payment. But I have a loan against my 401K, and it seems like it would be smarter to pay off a portion of that, since I'm paying 4.5% interest. But it's to myself. So, I just don't know. Any financial advisers out

Sorry, but this story is bullshit or at least part of it is. The Greenwich Village Balducci's closed in 2003.

I'm pretty much in the exact same place as you. Part of me is happy with my 14-month son, but I still have that irrational yearning for another tiny baby to cuddle. But Mr. Notyourcheese is mostly against the idea. He says it's because of money, but I think it's because of the family dynamic he grew up in. His

I'm not sure I get the uproar here. If anything, I think the show is pointing out how stupid and ridiculous stereotypes are.

Mine TURNS OFF the bathroom light before he pees. Because he says he prefers to pee in the dim light of the night light. Imagine the horrors I find on the rim and floor. HORRORS, I tell you.

I know I've got a problem when the first thing that pops into my mind upon reading this is: Soon we'll be able to print lungs! I can take up smoking again. Oh how I've missed you, you evil, seductive mistress.
